Does anyone know where the nearest Disney Store outlet is to Disneyland? I googled it and looks like one that was nearby closed down....not sure where the nearest is or how far away they might be. Thought maybe someone out there may have been and know the answer. We will also be at Universal Studios...maybe there is one near there as well?

Thanks!

Yeah, the one in Pomona closed to down - which is a crying shame. They had all sorts of awesome stuff from DL and WDW as well. I'd love to know if there's another one that's taken it's place.

I don't think that was a Disney owned outlet. I thought it was "Character Warehouse" or something to that effect. I understand there were several name changes, some of which may have been due to cease and desist letters sent by Disney about the use of trademarks. There was a store in Fullerton, but that closed. I also remember the store in Las Vegas, and I visited the place as it was closing down, although I heard it was still open months later.

They do have official Disney Store Outlet locations around the area. Four actually. Camarillo, Commerce, Cabazon, and Ontario. There's another one in San Diego almost at the Mexican border.

The one in Commerce (at the Citadel Outlets) is right on I-5 and might make a good stop if you're visiting other parts of the area.

Thanks for the info....I will have to see if that is near where we will be.

I've been to Disney Store Outlet locations at outlet malls. I've been to both locations in Las Vegas and the closest to where I live in Gilroy, California. It was fun, but much of the selection and prices are the same as you'll find at regular Disney Store locations. They do have more extensive closeout merchandise, although the regular stores often have small sections of closeouts. The one thing I noticed was a lot of discontinued theme park merchandise in the closeout racks/shelves.

I was thinking of the place I went to in Vegas. It was actually "Character Depot" at the time. They had mostly Disney stuff, but also other characters like comic book characters and WB cartoon characters. They also had the store in Fullerton and apparently one in Tennessee. Their website is still up, but it's probably just left there with nobody bothering to shut it down or post a notice that they're out of business.

Yeah, it used to be run by ABS-Wholsale, or something like that. Every know and then, they'd open up a store nearby in our Tracy Outlets. They'd be open for about 6 weeks and wouldn't be back for years. Still, it was fun going and finding all sorts of Park merch for cheap. I was able to get an Epcot 25th anniversary shirt that they only sold for just a few weeks at WDW. I called it my lucky shirt, because whenever I'd wear it to Epcot, I'd get picked out for all the live shows to do something crazy.

So they were doing "pop up" stores?

And I've been to the Tracy outlets. Kind of a sad place. A little on the small side and not all of the major retailers. Even if I lived in Tracy, I'd probably go to Livermore unless there was just one store I wanted to check out. On the other hand, the Character Depot store in Vegas was way in this small "annex" located away from the main building. I think they were reliant on lower rents there.
