Disney Store Online

I have, and postage was seriously expensive, even in comparison with other US based sites, for example Amazon. Two singlet t-shirts came in at something ridiculous like $35, which was MORE than the combined cost of the shirts. I only bought it because I had a gift voucher that was about to expire.

I had someone buy something from a Disney store and send it to me privately and the postage was about half of what the Disneystore site offered.

You can always mock up an order and see what the postage is like before you commit.

I have recently bought some clothes for my girls from the Disney store - I am having it combined with a Banana Republic order shipped through hopshopgo. The parcel hasn't been sent from the US yet so I don't know what my combined total postage will be yet - but as Oz-kateer said the postage from Disney direct is pretty $$.

I got burnt with shophopgo at Xmas time. If I had of just got my Disney items sent from the Disneystore it would have been about $75 but I went with shophopgo as I received the first 1kg free. The total price with the discount was approx. $125!!!!:scared1:

Shophopgo charge by the volume. Be warned. I would not use them again after my experience.:sad2:

Ouch!

Thanks for the advice! I had a feeling it would be costly. They have some good priced items but don't think the postage is worth it.

WOW Kangarucci...what a horrible experience! :sad1:

I think their postage is just too expensive. I'd rather fly over and buy stuff while I'm there  Seriously though, before we went, I wanted to get each of my kids a customized t-shirt, the postage for 4 t-shirts was over $50.

Yes as per most things Disney, the postage is ridiculously expensive. We run a small importing business and buy Disney on a regular basis. Luckily we have an in-law who lives in the states and who re-sends our stock at standard shipping rates. Actually they run specials quite often that give free shipping within the US, but unfortunately no such luck when it comes to international post.

Wanted to report back with my first hopshopgo order..

I ordered about $70 worth of Disney (1 adult sweater, 2 children sweaters, 2 children's pairs of pjs, 1 pair of childrens sweatpants), and $140 worth of Banana Republic (1 pair calf high suede high heel boots and 1 men's shirt) and also a $60 book (big heavy Star Wars one). The postage was $120 all up.

I thought that was a good rate and was very happy with the speed of the service - once the Disnay package finally arrived at Hopshopgo!

Postage really does add to the cost of good doesn't it! Can't wait to go to the US and shop like crazy:goodvibes

I have looked at the Disney shop online many times over the years but I can never justify the price of the postage. I'd rather wait until next time I'm over there. After all I really don't desperately need the stuff, or so I tell myself. :lmao:

Getting friends to resend is great. Especially when there are the free shipping offers.
I don't buy from there often but I have had friends in the US do that for me for a few different things. Same for stuff in the UK. :thumbsup2

Amazon is about the closest to 'reasonable' postage. Especially once you get a few books in an order.

I've ordered from the Disney store before, and while the shipping is VERY pricey, it's also really quick. Last time I ordered on a Thursday and had my parcel by the Monday.

I was actually playing around on the site yesterday and I think I finally figured that for anything up to $110 the shipping is $54.95, and then it jumps to $74.95.

I'm still considering it, my DD's beloved princess figurines that we bought at DL are finally falling apart after 18 months of daily love (or abuse depending on the 4YO storylines!). They are on special at the moment, and even regular price is cheaper than buying the same thing on ebay/amazon.

I purchased a large snow globe statue late last year from the Disney store and the postage was about $55. Have you tried - laughingplacestore they have a lot of Disney merchandise and they add more each day (if you sign up to their newsletter they email you their new additions each day) and they have a set price of $25 for international postage, no matter how much or how little you buy.

Thanks for that - I'll have a look tonight.
