Thanks! I was trying to find that post again but could not find it. I stumbled across it yesterday and waited, not so patiently until this morning to see if they would really be on sale today.

I only see the ones they mail you for free with your reservation. Will they be offering the special edition bands?

No those have to be bought in the parks and with a ticket linked to it. The special edition bands aren't allowed to be bought without ticket media linked to it.

There not supposed to. However, the key word is supposed. My parents bought my son one of the Limited Edition HM bands. He wasn't there, wasn't even in the park, and my parents were able to bring it home to link it online. However, due to the colossal issue weve been having (and still having) with the My Experience app, the band ended up linked to me. Long story short, we went back and got him a second one, and they told us the need to link it before leaving. Which we did. To avoid that app.

Yes there was a period where they did allow the HM to be sold without the ticket connected and that didn't last long and I'm sure it's because of problems like yours and similar ones.

My SIL is buying us all magic bands but only the ones online. But the question has come up about different designs being available at the parks.

In the parks they have more options with special and limited edition bands. For example DHS is selling Big Hero 6 bands for the new movie, MK has christmas party ones, they also had halloween ones for Halloween, the haunted mansion store is selling haunted mansion themed bands. There are also frozen themed bands with Anna, elsa and Olaf. I'm sure even more will be coming in the future.
