Disney Store Holiday Promotion!

(Forgive me if this has already been posted, but if it has it will just act as a friendly reminder!)

I just wanted to make sure that everyone is aware of the fab campaign that the Disney Store are running at the moment! Basically its a fab way for your children to find out that they are going of a Disney holiday. You walk into a store and speak to a friendly cast member (make sure the CM is aware of if they are suprising the child or not, can seriously alter the experience!). The CM will talk to your child and help them write a little letter to Mr Mouse himself which the child then posts in the Magical Blue PostBox! Mickey then appears on the screens and recieves your childs letter infront of their very eyes, and says that he's very excited to meet them and he'll see you real soon! (A bit more too it but don't want to ruin it.)
Other characters that appear are Buzz Lightyear, Rapunzel, Chip and Dale, and Goofy, so if your child isn't too keen on Mickey then it can be altered

I've been lucky enough to be the CM helping Mickey on a couple of these holiday events and it is great fun for not only me, but the parents and the children aswell! Your child also gets a badge and a certificate as well to make sure everybody knows you're going to go a magical holiday!

Wish I could work at a Disney store - if they opened one in my home town I'd be first in line begging for a job!

i went in to my local disney store on friday to ask if they could do this for us as we fly out on tuesday grace knows that were going and the cm's refused to do it because she already knew we were going i was so disappointed

Wow. Just wow. I'm very sorry to hear that, they should not of refused it. To be honest the best ones I've done are where the children already knew! I'd ring them and ask to speak to the management team, just ask about the promotion as if you didnt know anything about it, and say you'd like to bring our daughter in etc. If they still refuse then say you are aware that other stores would still do it but that they are your local store, if they agree then happy days!
If you wanted to PM me your local store I could try and make sure they won't refuse anyone else

Not sure what to do about this, our daughter is abit too young to understand at 2years4mths, but come our trip for her 3rd birthday she will be totally excited. So unsure whether to go to the store and get this done for her, or just figure out a fantastic way to tell her on her birthday that we are going to Disney the next day!!

I did one with a girl who was just 2 yesterday and while she didn't understand it fully she was leaping up and down when Mickey and co got her letter she'd just posted! and once it was explained that she'd be meeting them she was so giddy! It obviously depends on your child, but the little ones love it!

As far as I'm aware it doesn't have a confirmed end date at the moment so whether that means its an ongoing thing or not I'm not sure but I'll double check tomorrow!
Theres exciting things starting in Disney Stores over the next couple of months so be sure to keep an eye out! (I'll post on here when I've checked what I can and cannot say)

Yeah of course! Just strike up a conversation about the promotion and explain I can't see it being a problem at all!

How long is the promotion running for? would love for my boys to find out this way but would like to keep it till nearer the time as it is a xmas surprise and we do have another holiday planned in October which i dont really want to over shine

It would be down to the individual store unfortunately (depending on how popular the promotion has been etc.) However the official end day is this Sunday so stores may have extra certificates and badges not used. So I'd recommend popping in next week at some point and asking then

I'm pretty sure it's a European promotion but I could be wrong! I'm sure the new Dublin Imagination store will be doing it! You can always phone up your local store to check

We did Elsies today! We only had a certificate but loved it they all made such a fuss of her in the store! Talking to her about seeing mickey! x
