Hey guys, I just wanted to let you know that the Disney Store at The Fourm Shops at Caesar's in Las Vegas is closing on the 31st of the month. The mall chose not to renew their lease. The are taking its space, and the store next to it's (Victoria's Secret) space, and making more stores out of them. I figure if enough people call the mall, perhaps they will be persueaded to give the Disney Store one of the smaller spaces. This was the #1 store in the company, and the Children's Place is doing all they can to get another space in the mall... I figure this may help. The Children's Place doesn't want to lose the store because it made 6 million last year, but us in vegas don't want to lose it because its a special store... if it closes there will only be one other store in Vegas.... ***??? Please contact Simon ( the mall management) and tell them how disappointed you are that the Disney Store is vacating the mall... (702) 893-4800 :earseek:

Was just there Sat before last . . . is this a rumor or fact? Did the CMs there tell you this?

Simon must have something against Disney stores. They closed the one in our mall that they operate here too. Williams Sonoma opened in its place.

Is FAO Schwatz still in the Forum Shoppes?

It is, but from what I hear is doing very poorly... things are to expensive there. I don't think they will last too long... the new FAO sucks.

We went in there about 2 years ago and it looked like it was hanging on by a thread then.

the new FAO is totally different; the entire 3rd floor is like an arcade; you can buy game cards for the arcade-style games that you can also purchase. Not like it was before. They have megablocks that you can purchase by the bag (similar to a Lego store); they have magic stuff; lots of plush toys on the ground floor + a soda fountain. Just different.

That's too bad . . . I really miss the WBSS that was there.

That WAS my most favorite Disney Store ever when I visited each time I vacation in Vegas until last year when I walked in there. Last year was the first time I have been in there and it not have any collectibles anymore. Instead their elaborate collectable room was stuffed with PJ pals in every corner! They use to sell adult Disney Store Shirts that said Las Vegas on them also ... thats done too. I haven't the slightest clue on why the heck they would take out the collectables tho, out of all places, TDS in the ritzy Ceasars Palace Forum. Now those high rollers who win big in Vegas have nothing but PJ Pals and boring plush to pick from... how exciting... what a strategic plan that was. When I visited last year it was during July, the front area of the store had tons of lunch totes and backpacks, while the back half had millions of PJ pals and kids tees. Boring for a Las Vegas store. I was definately bummed out about how quickly that store blended in with all the other 300 stores.

After seeing that sad thing at Ceasars Palace I figured I walk over to Fashion Show Mall to see how that Disney Store was doing. Only to see it wasn't there anymore lol. Its now replaced by another store that sells cartoon collectibles and movie star collectables.

Hopefully The Childrens Place will do all they can to keep a spot in the Ceasars Forum and change it back around to the way it WAS. Not having any other spots to move into is bogus despite the fact Ceasars is in the process of building a huge additon onto the Forum Shops, which is probably almost complete by now.

It's getting harder to justify spending time and $$ at the forum shops, for someone who lives in Vegas. With no more WBSS, no more Discovery Channel store and now no more Disney store and with the FAO remodel it's just not the same. The only store I can bring the kids to in the new wing at the Forum Shops is the Houdini Magic Shop. Everything else is high end retail.

There are still family friendly restaurants there - Cheescake Factory, and Planet Hollywood. If you come to Vegas don't bring your kids to the Forum Shops; and if you do don't plan on spending much time if your only stop is going to be FAO.

I think you might be right about Simon. The Evansville, Ind. store, supposedly a top producer in the Disney chain, wouldn't renew Disney's lease for that space. I don't know what's there now....we haven't been back to that mall since it closed!

I loved the Forum Shops Disney store. Sorry it won't be there next time we visit Vegas. :(
