Okay, I KNOW I've bought from TDS for costumes before Halloween, but during the sales. Does anyoen remember off the top of their heads about WHEN those sales normally hit? I'm just starting to worry that the current deals (free shipping if costume is ordered, and then the DVRC deal with a free accessory with purchase >$50) are going to be it for this year. And of course DS wants to be Buzz. And I'd rather buy the DS version than the cheaper ones at Walmart, etc.... So, I'm hoping that I'm not crazy & that the sales should be starting soon. Right?

I would keep checking the disney store events page. I think the sale starts the day of the in store a halloween event.

Don't know if this helps.

Last year I just went and bought the costumes the kids wanted (they only had one Nemo left and I really had my heart set on that one for DS!). When they went to 25% off (maybe the first or second week of October?) I was able to return and then re-purchase DD's Alice in Wonderland costume, which saved me $16! Nemo was long gone, so I was glad I grabbed it when I did. I will probably do the same thing this year - if they go an sale and I can grab them at lower prices I will, if not, we have the costumes the kids want.

Is there a Disney Visa deal out now? Is that what you referred to in your post? Just curious - we have a Disney Visa and any little savings helps!

The Disney Visa is the DVRC deal I mentioned. A free accessory with a $50 purchase. Check their site for the deal.

On a side note the disney store does offer a price match. I think as long as it is within 2 weeks of purchase you can bring the receipt back and they will give you a price adjustment for the sale price.

The Disney Store does price adjustments if an item goes on sale, but it has to be within 7 days.

I was not sure if it was 1 or 2 weeks, but I know I have done it before.

Thanks for the update.

Please make sure your read the receipts. Two years ago they had wording on the back that excluded halloween costumes for the price adjustment.

As aDS Cast member I will tell you there are no price adjustments on costumes.

They wouldn't do a price adjustment for me and I had purchased the costume less than a week before it went 25% off.
