???? Disney Stock

Do mean as a gift? BIL bought DD one share of Disney Stock for Christmas from Oneshare.com and he bought it with a nice frame and plate that says "A Share Of The Happiest Place On Earth"...which was a really cute and unique gift. HTH!

Here's the link.

I don't know what your intentions are but there are several easy ways. If you want to start investing in Disney on a regular basis I would recommend to go directly through Disney.

If you are looking to set up an account to invest in different stocks, Sharebuilder is a good place to start and they are part of ING direct now, setting up an account is easy and is also easy to set up for minors as well.

If you are just looking to purchase one share for a novelty than the above poster is right.

I own some Disney stock for the kids and it has not done much over the past 10 years. Disney is such a diverse company now that it's stock moves slowly in either direction. It is a low risk, low reward type of stock. That being said, I think the stock is on the low side now and could certainly be in the high 30's by the end of the year, just my opinion!

I just bought DH a share from Oneshare.com for our anniversary- it's cute, but I'd recommend springing for the frame if you go through them. It's much larger then I thought it'd be. Otherwise, I'm interested in knowing because I'd like to keep getting him a share per anniversary- LOL.

I also used oneshare.

We did not have them frame it, but I did it and I did get the little gold "plaque" that says, "Your first stock to the Happiest place on earth Now you can call our vacations business trips"
Made a wonderful gift!!

I have been a member of the Investment plan for many years.

The basics are you have to pay $10 to set it up.

You must already own ten shares, or make an initial invstment of at least $1,000, or set up automatic payments of at least $100 per month.

Once it is set up they charge 1¢ per share purchased or sold. In addition they charge $1 per purchase transaction from automatic payment or $5 per purchase transaction by check.

It hasn't been a great investment. I still own mine - and made $12 in dividends or something last year! But I own it for sentimental reasons, not because its a good investment.

ETA: I originally bought because back in the 1980s stockholders got automatic membership in the Magic Kingdom Club or whatever it was called. The MKC had pretty good discounts and was a $35 (or something) annual membership - plus they sent you a magazine. So for around $70 I got several years of MKC membership and associated discounts. Then they stopped giving shareholders any sort of discounts and dropped the MKC.
