They used to be great. You could buy a single Disney share and functionally get a lifetime membership to the Magic Kingdom Club - ticket discounts, room discounts. The share sold for less then the MKC membership (which you had to pay for every year). All that ended sometime in the 1990s when I suspect Disney looked at their books and realized they had a lot of single share shareholders who own a single share for discounts - but still needed annual reports, dividend checks, and all the other shareholder relations activities that are actually fairly expensive for a company.
