Is anyone a Disney Shareholder?? What are the benefits? TIA!

DH and I are shareholders.....anything that comes up for voting, we get to vote on...other than that, I'm not sure of any other benefits!

DH and I are stockholders. Years and years ago, they gave out one day hoppers if you went to the annual meetings. Not anymore (but understandable!!) Not sure of any tangible benefits either - you get a copy of a very interesting annual report each year. You also get the chance to go to the annual meeting (which we went to three years ago) and meet the characters that they bring along (nooo, not the board members, I mean real Disney Characters :) ).

It also helps a tiny bit after you just laid out all of this money for a Disney vacation that it will ultimately help your stock.

We also don't see any benefits other than voting rights and of course knowing you are part of the Mouse. :smickey:

DW and I are shareholders, (for about 0.4% of our portfolio) and we think it's good to be able to vote on a few things and stay in tune with what the company is doing. we like going to the parks and the movies, and we're glad that they're bringing back some of the creative talent that made the movies in the late 80's and early 90's.

probably the best "perk" is that you get the annual report in the mail and you can listen in on the shareholder's meeting each year to hear about what's coming up (although I think it is publicly webcast as well).

I don't know of any perks other than those listed. But if you are buying as a gift this is a neat way to give a share ~~~

One Share

I know that we'll probably get one for each of our kids. Granted, the price of framing and such is quite a bit more than a single share, which is priced at $31 today.

We have been shareholders for years and my broker told me in the past there were perks but not anymore. I wish there were. I guess owning a piece of the Mouse.

We have been shareholders for about 25 years now. In the beginning, we could get a small percentage off on-site resorts. But at the time, we were struggling moneywise and could not take advantage. There were no mods or value at that time. Since then, things have changed. Now we can afford the mods or value and the discount is no longer available!!!! LOL I do have a set of pins that were sent one year. Other than that, I don't think there are any perks given. The stock itself is very pretty and so I guess that could be considered a "perk". We have bought stock for our children and grandchildren and now we have 2 1/2 great grandchildren that we are going to give the stock to!!!! :cool1: pixiedust:

Where can you buy just one share from other than that above link.. i don't want it framed and such.. That is way out there price wise, i can frame it myself! LOL

They do offer a FREE paper frame to protect the stock certificate for those that wish to frame themselves.

Free Paper Framing

Paper Frame
The Paper Frame is available free of charge. This frame is made of matte board and provides extra protection during shipment. If you'd like to display your stock certificate, we suggest the aforementioned custom frames.

When you go to order, you choose your frame. Paper Frame (Free) is an option. You'll still have the $39 transfer fee, and the cost of the stock (d'oh).

WE bought 10 shares of Disney Stock for our DS7 about 2 years ago. There isn't any benefits other than what has been mentioned. SAdly : ( We bought thru Sharebuilder.com I think you can buy them as a lump sum or you can do a market purchase only avail. on Tuesdays and you can buy as many shares of one stock as you want for $15.00. Pretty good.

Last Christmas I bought each of them 1 share of Disney stock from OneShare.com with the free paper frame and I was able to get a free plaque on each of them- some promotion....anyways, no perks other than the annual report, which the last one had a postcard with Jimminy Cricket for Earth Day, voting rights, the best was I ordered the certificates 3rd week of November 2005 and by end of January 2006 the kids each got a dividend check for 0.27c, now I know alot of people say "big deal", my husband was one of them, but for the kids only having their stock for 1 month...and that more then they get in their savings account from the bank in 3 months with over $100 in it. I got each of their stocks for $25 each at that time, I framed their first dividend letter.....They each have a shadow box with their GOLDEN 50th Mouse ears, a Disney dollar, a post card with Mickey and Minnie and their dividend letter.....by the way they are 4 and 2 years of age!
