Disney Springs on arrival day - suggestions?

If we arrive on time (knock wood), we should be at Polynesian by noon. Our plan is to eat dinner at Skipper Canteen around 6:30, then do a few rides at MK (Wednesday in October, no party usually).

We wanted to check out Disney Springs during the day (will be eating at night a few times).

I was thinking it might be nice to go over to POFQ to see the hotel and then take boat over to Disney Springs.

Would our best bet be to get over to MK and catch bus to POFQ? Then we can take bus back to Polynesian from Disney Springs.
Or does that take too long and would you skip POFQ and just catch bus from Polynesian to Disney Springs?

Also, as I have no idea, what kind of travel times are we looking at? I'm sure we won't spend more than 2 hours at the most walking around...mostly concerned with how long it would take to get back to Polynesian from Disney Springs in time to make a 6:30 Skipper Canteen reservation. I'll want to go to room first.

Thanks all! :)

I think the MK bus to Port Orleans will be your best bet if you really want to head over there using Disney transportation. I would be at the bus stop heading back to Poly from DS by 4pm. Then, even if you miss a bus and have to wait, you should still be back to your room by 5, giving you time to shower/change or whatever, before making your way to MK for your dinner and evening plans. All of this will depend on crowds and such, but I think it's doable to get you to Skipper's by 6:30, especially since you're staying so close to MK.

You didn't really mention when your starting this day but the boat from POFQ to springs is slower than the bus from POFQ to springs. I would say it's at minimum an hour once you get to POFQ to arrive at springs because you have to wait for the boat and if it's already full coming from POR you have to wait for the next one.. In other words, if time is tight on your schedule, skip pofq and the boat unless you really want to scope this place out for a future trip, it is small and you have that advantage but the waiting for transportation to springs is where time will get sucked up.

I agree with @xlsm on being at the bus stop at springs at 4 and that gives you plenty of padding for missing a bus, long waits for bus (springs is known for long bus waits and it's a large bus stop that might take a few to get to your stop) with some buffer space to freshen up and drop off anything you got at springs.

Thanks @xlsm!

@Accident We'd pretty much leave after we got to Polynesian (hopefully by noon). If room is ready, we'd drop off our stuff, if not, leave with bell services. Going to POFQ isn't really a necessity. I though the boat ride would be nice, but I really have no idea about the travel times and such, so thanks for the info. Maybe just taking the bus from Polynesian is our best bet. :)

I would make your Skippers Canteen for a little later so you wont be rushed. Oh and Wednesday nights are evening extra magic hours at Magic Kingdom so it will be open later unless they change the EMH's.

Thanks. We want to eat a little early and end the night earlier because we will have been up since 4 am, so 6:30 will most likely be the latest we eat. :)

I think getting to Disney Springs by 2 and leaving by 4 should be okay. We really just want to walk through it as we've never seen it. No shopping on this day.

We are doing a similar plan on our arrival day . We are also staying at the Poly and arriving around 12:30 lol but we are going to Hollywood Studios then to Disney Springs on the bus. We just want to ride our favorite rides then head to Disney Springs for a dining reservation.

Sounds like a good plan.
