Disney Springs - EMH and 60 Day FP+ Now?

So it sounds like Disney Springs resort guests with a valid theme park ticket will be able to participate in EMH, whether they book directly through Disney or not.

And, Disney Springs resort guests who book a package (hotel + theme park tickets) directly through Disney will also have the added perk of FP+ at 60 days prior.

However, Disney Springs resort guests who do not book a package (hotel + theme park ticket) directly through Disney, will not have FP+ at 60 days prior. They will only have EMH.

The wording is complicated, and at first glance without dissecting it, the statement can create confusion. So, that's what I garner from this statement. Does this sound about right???

I think so but there is also question for me ............ what defines "a Walt Disney Travel Company .........." it's as if there is approved list of others who can book it. Why say "a" if it meant you have to book direct with Walt Disney Travel Co., Inc. Not an issue for me as I would never use an agent and always book direct but for others it makes a difference if the FP+ is a priority.

Very interesting observation... Yeah, I would also like a list of these approved companies...

All I know is that with this news, the extra benefits to stay onsite has diminished a LOT for our family and now for future trips I will be pricing out the DS hotels. We drive to WDW so ME is not a benefit we use, I will say that we always used Disney transportation and that I will not like driving everywhere but if we can save a chunk of $$, it will be worth it.

The book is wrong then. Verbatim it says "Guests at Disney resorts except the Swan, the Dolphin, Shades of Green, and hotels of the Disney Springs Resort Area can also make dining reservations up to 190 days before their visit, or 10 days earlier than the general public." It's under the section of the book titled, "Benefits of Staying in the World." This is from the 2018 edition. Wow, thank you for advising me of the correct information. I definitely have to go back to the drawing board now, this makes a difference in my hotel decisions...

I think it's in the interpretation of the "180+10". If staying onsite, guests may book ADRs 180 days prior to check-in plus length of stay up to 10 days. So technically what the book states is correct: "up to 190 days" for that last day of your visit. But still only 180 days from the first day of your visit.

I agree the way that's written is confusing and easy mis-understood.

Enjoy your vacation!

I know this thread is a month old now, but I would like to point out that a Walt Disney Travel Company package can be booked directly or through authorized travel agents. An authorized travel agent is one working at an agency that has a booking account with Disney. This may help clear a little of the confusion on the wording. I used to work as an agent a few years back and remembered this in particular.
