Disney sling bag

Just ordered it yesterday :goodvibes
I'll post info when I get it (in about a week I imagine)!

I would to see pictures of the inside and different compartments. Thanks.

Since I'm Pooh sized, I'd be curious to know how it fits -- would it fit a larger person comfortably? Anyone?

I ordered it several months ago. It actually is quite big inside. The cellphone holder is actually large enough for an iPhone, which I was surprised. Then my 2 digital cameras will also fit in it comfortably. As for the strap adjustment, it is very big, IMO. I have it pulled as tight as possible and it hangs loosely on me. I am an average person, not big, not small, so I think it would suit anyone just fine.

I bought one of these a few days ago, so it should be arriving some time this week. I'll post a review when it arrives.

I've ordered one too! Just got my "your order has shipped" message yesterday, so I'll give my review when it arrives.

I wish it came in different colors so when you customize it it would some what go with the color scheme!!!

My bag just came today (along with a box full of disney t-shirts!!). It's very nice. The "strap" side has two velcro compartments for cell phones or other elec devices. One is small, but a small flip phone would fit. It also has a small zippered compartment big enough for a couple lipsticks or lipbalms. There is also a pen holder on the "strap". The "bag" side has two large zippered compartments. The lower one is 6 1/2" long and about 4" wide. The middle one is about 5" square. There is a top compartment with a velcro closure. It is almost 9" long and 5" wide. It could easily hold 2 water bottles. Plus you have the insulated bottle holder that attaches to the side. It will be very easy to over pack this thing and make it heavier than I would want to carry. As far as size. I am 5' 11" and it fits around me easily (I'm a little overweight too). I'm not sure it will fit my husband who is shorter, but heavier. The adjustable part of the strap only has 5-6" to play with. We'll be trying ours out at Hershey Park next week and let you know how it goes.

Thanks for the info. I should be getting mine sometime next week - it was shipped on Tuesday. Sounds like it's going to be perfect.

Got my bags yesterday - I think they're going to be great. The 2 larger compartments are deeper than I expected. My camera is going to fit fine - and it's a large zoom so it's not a little one. My DH will be able to carry my tripod and there should be room for a compact rain jacket too. We got wide mouth water bottles (rubbermaid) at the dollar store (so we can add ice) and they fit in the bottle holder like they were made for it. The overall quality is very good - good quality material and lining, very well made with good zippers, etc. I would have liked a variety of colors to choose from - but sometimes you have to take what you can get. I decided to have them customized so mine has Tigger and my name and my DH has a stars and stripes Mickey head and his name so we can tell them apart. We're kind of Pooh sized too and they fit fine - although a little more strap would have been nice. But if someone had to I think adding an extension to the strap wouldn't be too difficult. The buckle and webbing look like a pretty standard size. I would definitely recommend it if you want something a little different then the standard backpack or messenger bag. And it's fine for both men and women.

Thanks for the update. Glad it sounds like it will work well for you.

I got my bag today. I haven't given it a full test-drive yet -- that's on tap for this weekend -- but I do have a couple of initial observations to add to what the PP's have said (all of which I agree with).

The bag is more reddish and less orange-ish than I was expecting, based on what I saw online. I'm fine with it, but if color coordination is your thing, please note.

The bag is designed to be worn so that it runs from your left shoulder to your right hip, and it cannot be reversed. If you're used to slinging bags from your right shoulder to your left hip, this bag will not work for you.

I used our bag at Hershey Park last week and have a few comments. The velcro closing pockets on the "strap" do not close very well; I was afraid to put anything in them. The top velcro closing pocket on the "bag" side has a zipped pocket inside, but it's still not very secure....I wish it was on the side that is next to your back. We put a water bottle in the water bottle holder and two more bottles in this top velcro closing pocket. They were frozen when we left home and stayed cold/partially frozen all day. However, it made it a little heavy. Even with all the water in it, it wasn't uncomfortable, but it definitely is not big enough for "pooh" sized people or anyone over about 5' 10". We will probably still use it at Disney, but we will use it for some snacks and ponchos instead of water to make it lighter.

I second sharonabe's statement that pooh-sized people might find the bag a bit small. I'm 6 feet, 160 pounds, and the bag fits snugly on me with the strap let out as far as it will go.

I'm actually at WDW right now, and today was my first "day in the parks" with the bag. The key seems to be to not overload it. Because the largest pocket is up high near your shoulder, putting lots of weight in that pocket will unbalance the sling and make it pull down on your shoulder. Today, I had my rain poncho in the top pocket, snacks and a small camera in the middle pocket, and my wallet and lip balm in the bottom pocket. I also had my phone in the larger of the two "sling" pockets, and unlike sharonabe, I thought it felt secure; obviously, YMMV. I didn't have anything in the smaller "sling" pocket, so I can't speak to its closability.

The one big thing I noticed all day long is that except for the bottom pocket (the one with my wallet and lip balm), I had to take the sling off in order to access anything. I'm used to wearing a murse (excuse me, a "men's travel satchel"), and I can reach anything in the murse without taking it off. The sling bag is more of a "stripped down backpack" than a satchel or messenger bag.
