Has anyone used the Disney sippy cups made by The First Years? I saw them last night in Toys 'R Us, and they were $2 off for a 2-pack of 9oz cups. They had Cinderella & Snow White, Nemo & Dory, and Cars. It says they are insulated and spill-proof.

I'm trying to transition my twins to sippy cups before our trip to WDW. They've used Avent sippy cups with the handles, which they seem to like (DD has taken to it better than DS). I've tried the Take-n-Toss kind, but they love to shake the cups, so I really need good spill-proof cups. Just wondering how these First Years cups are.

I seem to be obsessed with finding cups with Disney characters, when I really should be looking for the best product. I also saw the Take-n-Toss with Disney characters...both the sippy cup and straw versions.

I bought Disney sippy cups for our last trip, but can't remember if they were First Years or Take & Toss. The holes were so small my DD couldn't get anything out. I tried it to. I ended up poking a fondue fork prong into 2 of the holes in each cup to get any kind of flow. I really liked the Nuby cups (at Wal Mart) they have a a soft top one and a less soft spout one 9no Disney characters though). Also, my DD took good to the Playtex ones (pretty spillproff) and they have Disney Characters. We've done the sippy cup challenge too :rotfl: every child truly is different even when it comes down to cups.

I just bought those on sale this weekend at Toys 'R Us, actually. I was hoping they could replace the stockpile of multi-part Avent cups that I've accumulated since it would be nice to have a cup that I don't have to dissassemble to wash. Well, I put DS's (3yo) drinkable yogurt in it in the morning and he couldn't hardly get anything out of it. He pretty quickly ditched it.

we use the insulated Playtex sippy cups (they have Disney characters, mostly princess ones) b/c somehow my daughters were able to make all the others, even Avent spill. My younger daughter does somehow manage to (infrequently, thankfully!) bang the cup so hard sometimes that the valve will come loose.

The only sippy cup I buy is Playtex. I have three DDs and have tried many types, and Playtex is by far my favorite.

If you couldn't get anything out of the hole it was DEFINITELY take and toss- I hate (oops, we don't use that word;) ) that!! Word of caution- I was stuck in June w/ an 11 mo. old w/ NO sippy-needless to say she learned how to use a straw that weekend. The closest thing they had on dis. property was a cup w/ a built in straw. Our sippy was actually stolen from the cup holder in our stroller while we were on a ride- seriously. So TAKE EXTRA SIPPY's and DOn't leave them in plain view. We go to MK often and have left our strollers out many many times w/ stuff in them. Nothing of value- but the diaper bag underneath or something. I never would have thought her cup would be stolen - of all things!!!

They are the cutest little cups and my DD just loves them, but I have to say I don't care for them becasue the lids just don't seem to screw on properly and they leak when they are not stood upright...obviously defeating the purpose of a "spill-proof" cup. It is a shame, because I've bought several sets thinking "it's just this set..." Finally gave up.

I have the playtex cups for my son. HE has Finding Nemo, Buzz, and Cars. I have used Playtex with all 3 of my kiddos! :thumbsup2

I second the Nuby sippy cup from Walmart with the soft spout. It's the only one my dd really likes, I've never had a problem with it leaking (unless I've screwed it on incorrectly  ), and there is no valve to worry about coming apart or a million pieces to clean! I've seen more people lately with these cups, and they all love them too! The only downside is no Disney characters, but she's got plenty of those elsewhere! :)

Is this the kind you're talking about:

We have used this kind for travel and they work ok for water & juice but ds will only drink milk from the nuby cups (see link in prev post). He's extremely picky!

Some kids do have a difficult time with the small holes on these however they are great for travel because they are so cheap, plus reusable and very easy to clean (no messing with a bunch of parts when you have to wash everything in the bathroom sink by hand!).

They're inexpensive...why not buy one package and just give them a try?

My dd is the same way about milk and the Nuby cup.............I wonder if it seems more like a bottle to them with the soft nipple.
