Disney Silhouette artists from photos vs cell phone?

We'd like to get a Disney Silhouette of a family member who can't come with us to complete the collection. Would it be better to have a photo printed out or can the artists work from a cell phone snap shot?

I took printed out pictures as large as I could but I just watched a video of them doing it from a lady holding up a cellphone for them.
