True, there’s a few really reputable ones.

but then there’s also the eBay peeps that need two escorts and a three carts to get all their merch to the car.

these out of state (and country) people don’t play when it comes to getting that coveted unicorn 🤣😅

The two are not mutually exclusive and are proof that free people in free market will step up to fill the need or desire,

That said DIsney themselves caused this by once again not investing in the things that matter, If these items were special orderable through the Disney stores (like the old sears special order desk) or orderable online but you needed to go to the local Disney store it would both drive traffic to the store and remove the 3rd party profiteers from the equation. Come on Disney this is retail 101 any sales associate could tell you this. This would drive traffic in the stores and make the retail operations an omnichannel operation.

Yes you could have a few 'park only' pieces but limit those to ONE per person per day.

I believe it is good to have in-park only mechandise, however I do agree that they need to limit the number per customer and make enough to satisfy demand.

once again it comes down to corporate laziness and the desire to squeeze the nickel out of people not long ago every resort had their own soda cups there’s a no brainer right there, And some non-zero fraction are going to want one from every resort.

That's something I can agree with you on. More resort-specific and other niche items would be great. They still make a lot of good stuff, but you have to look harder to find it it seems.

The biggest problem is that TWDC has no love and/or understanding for the parks, they see them simply as an ATM for the rest of the company, Looking at my pen and pencil holders I've got one from every resort i've visited - the blue and silver ones from YOMD and a vast collection of undifferentiated disney mugs which we drink our morning beverages and water and soft drinks the rest of the day in, One thing can be said for the Disney mugs they are tough as nails.

But I've got NEW unique ones from every Universal Resort i've stayed in, My Inlaws love Cabana Bay because it reminds them of the hotels they used to stay at when they were young.

How is Disney so blind as to not realize that mugs are advertising that the customer pays for, An AKL mug points to AKL you dont stay at a Brand you stay at a specific hotel or resort. It's not like disney owns 10,000 fairfield ins they own a few tens of hotels all of which need their own advertising.

Seconded. Disney really are missing an opportunity to have individualised mugs for every resort. I'd definitely buy an AOA one in a heartbeat!

If there were individual mugs for each resort at WDW myself and my DMIL would probably go to each one and buy the mug for that resort. How would that be a bad thing for PRGS ???? because I'm pretty sure my DMIL and I are not the only ones who would want the whole set.

Disney is weird - they cut things that people love and refuse to sell things people are clamoring to buy like resort specific merchandise.

not to a hardcore collector its not, i have some items in my collection look at them wondering why i pad that much, but given identical circumstances id do it again.
I totally understand that but these just went on sale yesterday and obviously they are bought by many to make a huge profit, which stinks for those of us that were a day late. As my dad's famous saying you snooze you lose, I lost ..LOL
