We've been to all the parks and done (most of) the rides, and they are all so much fun, but we're interested in finding out what else Disney World has to offer. We've been to Disney World quite a few times and are looking for some special secrets we may have missed along the way. Anyone have "don't miss" tips we may have never done! Some new things for this trip are:
:p An illuminations Cruise to kick us off to a good start
:p Cirque de Solei Tickets
:p Splurging on a yummy steak dinner at Shulas

What have you done on your trips that's a "Don't Miss"
Share your secrets with us?

but also dont forget hidden mickey's!
let me think a little more-I'll get back to you...or at least try to remember to do so!

Don't miss going to the other resorts to check them out! Some of the most beautiful flowers and architecture are at the hotels. Also, there are some great restaurants in the resorts. We like to go to the miniature golf, too. Taking a monorail ride is a lot of fun.

Not really a secret, but the Backstage Magic tour is fantastic! You have to be at least 16 to do this and it costs extra. However, it is worth it. You get to see a lot of things people do not get to see. If you can do it I would and lunch is included in the price.

Some of the things I remember are:
1. Get to see the underside of the body wars ride. (i.e. the hydraulic actuators, and how thefilm is shown)
2. Get to go in the underground tunnels at MK.
3. Get to see the dragon that is goes around the MK resorts at night. It looks different in the day.
4. Got to see the room that controls all the rides and the system that they use to run the parades. I could have watched that all day, but I am a gadget guy.

This was several years ago. They may have changed this up some now.

How long does this tour take and what was the cost...my gadget guy would love that!

too time consuming-we're doing a 3days land 4 days sea package...so we will only get one day at WDW and 1 day at epcot 7hours would be too much time...maybe next time -I have to make fun this time around-make sure he wants to go again!!!-

DW and I enjoyed dinner at the Yachtsmen Steakhouse at the YC and then went to the late show at Cirque Du Soleil. What a great night! Both the dinner and the show were excellent.

Don't tell anybody but the Ice Cream Social at the Garden Grill restaurant in the Land is really great..for about 6. you get a BIG BIG ice cream and get to spend time with the charachters like Mickey,Minnie and chip & Dale think there were others also..its about 3 in the afternoon think they have one at 3;30 also..make a PS before you leave or once you are at your resort and you will have a lot of fun for a little bit of money..have a great trip and enjoy your cruise it is the BEST..Marianne :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Oh!! I totally forgot about this one! Thanks!!! I'm definitely going to do this on our trip....I really didn't want to do a full blown character meal, this will be a perfect substitute!! :D

I see you're in Holbrook, Marianne! I'm your neighbor in Sayville!

I'm going to try this for the first time. The kids (big and lttle) should have a great time doing this.

jlp651,

Sorry about not replying for so long. It was an all day event. It was about 8 hours. I just asked my wife and she seemed to think we paid $150-165 or so. However, that was a few years back and I would guess like someone said now it is probably $200 or so. I really enjoyed it and would like to do it again. You will not be disappointed.

one of our most memorable outings was the hayride at fort wilderness...cheap( around 6 bucks per I think), at night( so not wasting park time, went after MK) and the driver let our girls sit up front with her and drive a little..(.course we went off the trail a little due to pre teen drivers!) the girls loved it, especially my crazy- about- horses daughter...that was one of those times when it really paid to be nice and friendly with the cm, really adds to the fun!

We found that the trail ride at Ft Wilderness was a nice break from the hustle of the crowds. Its not too crowded, the horses are great (ask for Casper) and the trail is fun.

Less than 700 days until the next time!

If you are scuba certified there is Dive Quest in the living seas, which is way cool, my DW and I have done that 2 times takes about 3 or so hours. There is also a Scuba Assisted Snorkeling if you arent dive certified and an up close and personal with the dolphins.

Things we tried for the first time last time and loved were the Adventurer's Club at PI, and 'Ohana.

Kungaloosh!
Mort.

Not really a secret, but DH and I love to visit Ice Station Cool!! We had a blast there last year!

We always try a different restaurant or treat every trip - wether it be dinner or a treat, it has to be something new.

We decided to try and visit Boardwalk last trip, and had a blast - now we are staying across from it, so we will be making several stops through there!

I love to explore the resorts and ride the monorail.

I think that the DIS needs to market Mickey ears that are lime green! They have the black and pink one's, but we need lime green! How cute would that be?? ;)
