I'm in the thinking/planning stages of a "just for me" scrapbook about Disney. What I mean by that is that I will be the one who gets the most pleasure out of it, both in the creating and in the later viewing of the scrapbook. My plan is to start with Epcot. I may skip over Future World at first and start with the World showcase. I want to do a two-page spread on each country. I don't plan to have any family members or me in any of the photos-- it's going to be a purely artistic endeavor. Has anyone else ever done scrapbooks like this? I have also thought of doing a "Doors of the Kingdom" scrapbook where I photograph various doors around the World and do a spread on each one, with journaling.

The CK Seasonal idea book gives an idea of what I'm talking about. Though I typically use 12x12, I think for this book I'll use 8 1/2 x 11.

Ideas? Thoughts?

I think that is a great idea. There are so many wonderful wonderful things about Disney that you could fill a million books. Just to showcase the imagination and creativity and all the simple pleasures like Mickey on a Stick, sidewalks that light up... I'll bet you get some beautiful pictures. Sometimes we're too busy focusing on the people in the picture and miss all the beauty in the background.

Good Luck and please post your layouts when you get them done!

I'm going to be doing a book like this with Disney topiaries. For whatever reason, I just love their topiaries! I've been collecting pictures of them over our last several trips, and hope to continue to add to my collection! I bought the new Creative Memories Meadow Breeze 7x7 album that has embossed trim and leaves on the cover -- I figure it'll be perfect for "plant pictures"! :D

I think that is an awesome idea! I kinda wish I had another trip where I could focus just on what I wanted to focus on! Maybe on my upcoming trip, I can try to take special pictures of all the things I love there! Hmmm. . . now you have me thinking! What kind of things do you have pictures of? I'm just curious! There is SOOOOO much at WDW you could concentrate on!

I would love to see your layouts when you finish!

Types of things I have pictures of.... let's see-- I have a lot of pictures of the United Kingdom, they have the most beautiful doors there. ;) There's also this great lamp post with climbing ivy and blooming flowers at the base. I also have some architectural pictures of Italy. In France, I took a picture of my lunch:

:)

Unfortunately I don't have the other pictures I was talking about in electronic format.

I LOVE the topiary idea! That's exactly what I'm talking about. Just picking a cool theme that you will have a lot of fun with and just running with it.

yummy72 had a good idea too-- a book that focuses on the little things that we might literally walk over on our way somewhere else. Wouldn't that be cool? The focal picture on each layout could be the often overlooked item, then other pictures in the layout could offer the scene around the item giving a clue as to where it is. I love that.

I don't know that I'll use many of the pictures I already have for this particular album. I'd like to set aside a day to go by myself and take roll after roll specifically with this album in mind. I think I'll get a better result that way. It'll be fun no matter what.

DVCajun: I'm glad I'm not the only one who takes pictures of the food at WDW! LOL Everyone always looks at me like I'm crazy when I whip out the camera and focus on the plate!

BTW, that is a *very* artistic shot of your food. The only way you'd know you weren't in Europe is that tell-tale WDW paper plate! ;)

What a great idea and I think using the small album is the way to go. I am working on an album with my kids for the first time they meet each of the characters. I am using an 8.5X11 album and on one side I have a big picture with the character w/ the kids and the signature. then on the opposite page I plan on adding smaller pictures of the kids with the characters on each trip that we take. I think it will be a great way to watch the kids grow and to see the joy the characters continue to bring them.
