Let me say upfront I had no desire to see this film and had planned on
DVD-ing it. I read the review in our local bird cage liner and it came highly praised. :) So I went out of my way to procure 4, 3D tickets for a later showing with great anticipation.:goodvibes Having just returned all I can say is...What the heck was that!:confused3 It started with an original Walt cartoon done in 3D staring Donald & Chip-N-Dale..I loved it....it ended with a wonderful quote from Walt about constantly "moving forward"..In between was a Jimmy Neutron cartoon on crack!:confused3 The Imagineers use a roundtable method where they throw ideas around to see what sticks. But they throw out the stuff that doesn't stick..They don't make a movie out of it! I heard Kids sighing during this movie, as in when will it be over! Very few actual laughs. Come on Team Disney, you gotta do better than that! The only redeeming quality was the 3D Part, and I paid extra for that. I can only imagine how those who didn't see the 3D version felt!

Sorry for such a negative review, I love all...well, most things Disney...but this I did NOT!

That's funny because the review in our local paper did not give it a thumbs-up. As a matter of fact they said it was very boring so I have no desire to see it from the get-go. I think you are right though......disney can do much better than that. :sad2:

 I'm really shocked by what I've been reading from Disers regarding this movie. I saw it bright and early this morning, as well, and while I wouldn't call it hilarious, it certainly wasn't boring. I'm absolutely shocked that kids would be bored with that movie. I thought it was one of the best child-oriented films Disney has done in years! Of course, this is coming from an adult who still plays VMK, so think of me what you will, but I still thought it was a very well done movie.

I took my kindergarten class to see it this morning. They weren't bored, but they certainly weren't thrilled either! We had several students curl up in the seats and go to sleep. -not a good reaction for a Disney movie-
We adults weren't exactly thrilled either! We absolutely loved the ending though.

DH and I just saw the 3-D version and really loved it. It had some neat twists (I did guess some, but that did not ruin the movie). The Donald cartoon was a nice treat. You should have not given the end comment. It was one of the nice twists.

Hi there! I'm a long time reader, but just got to joining and posting to the board now. Me and my husband took our kids to see Meet The Robinsons tonight and I will say I had higher hopes for it-I thought the trailers for the movie were just hilarious and was hoping there was more to come. I never listen to reviews...so I have no clue what the papers and critics are saying. The kids loved it, but I think that was because of the great animation and spurts of humor. It's pretty hard to see an animated movie and NOT have my kids like it. I felt the story was a bit slow, but appreciated it overall. My favorite part of course, as you can tell, was the quote from Walt Disney at the end. LOVED THAT! ::yes::

I'm sorry you felt that way. We absolutely LOVED the movie and the storyline. :thumbsup2

I hate to hear this, it sounds good to me from what I have seen on the Disney Channel. Then again, I LOVED Chicken Little, which wasn't quite one of Disney's most successful movies.

I'll wait for the Netflix DVD.

We also saw it today. My DGD 7 loved it! She was laughing all through it.:lmao: It was ok for me. I hated paying the extra for the glasses though.:3dglasses

Hi ...

DH and I took our 3 boys (3, 6, 9) to see Meet the Robinsons today. We all enjoyed it. My kids, as well as lots of kids in the audience, were laughing and having fun. I really enjoyed the film - storyline and animation.

I posted a review on Tuesday...I liked it. Not in the upper tier of Disney movies like Beauty and the Beast and Snow White, but it definitely wasn't bad. I think its Disney's best since Emperor's New Groove -- which is an underrated gem in and of itself.

Robinsons was certainly enjoyable. In this day and age of animated films being filled to the brim with pop culture references and fart jokes (*cough* Shrek *cough*), it's nice to see a G-rated film that doesn't offend.

I recommend it!

We (me , Dh, DD13, DD9) saw it last week. we all thought that the movie started off ok and the ending was great, but the middle of the movie was awful. However we really enjoyed the new Mickey short they showed was worth going for!

It funny you should mention the Emperors New Groove. DS was talking at dinner last night that he is sorry more people don't appreciate how good the movie really was. He is in high school and his teacher let them pick a movie to watch yesterday in one of his classes and the class picked Cars. He said nobody had seen ENG, but would rather re-watch Cars which he felt was sad for kids in an animation class!!

ENG is a favorite in our house. I can watch it for the 50th time and still crack up. :thumbsup2

WOW..Good news! We took the Disney Visa rewards "Meet the Robinsons" Quiz and won a free copy of the soundtrack!:lmao:
