1. Do you get extra points if you pay for your trip with a Disney visa? I have already booked my trip, but haven't paid it off yet. Could I get a Disney visa and pay off my trip with it to get extra points?

2. Who out there thinks that it is even worth getting a Disney Visa card? Do the points rack up that fast that you can actually have a cheaper vacation because of it?

3. What are the benefits you get in the parks by having it? Does the park benefits make the card worth having?

4. I have heard of people who have the card getting special vacation package offers. Have any of you gotten good deals on your vacation through offers on your Disney Visa?

Thanks:love:

1. I have not gotten extra points by using the Disney Visa. I think you can get free financing for a certain amount of time if you use the card to pay for your trip, maybe 6 months.

2. I have it but it doesn't seem like I rack up as many points as my cousin does on her other cards. I think you get 1 point for every $100 you charge, so it depends on how much you charge. You do not get points for keeping a balance, only on purchases. We like having the card and have been able to get a few hundred dollars worth of points, which comes in handy. One year we were able to get a 10 day pass. The rate is not that low so if you carry a balance, it probably is not worth it.

3. The benefits in the park are usually a discount at the World of Disney at DTD, I think it was 10 percent but I could be wrong. You don't have to USE the card, just show you have it. There is a Meet and Greet at Epcot for just Disney Visa card holders, private photo with some characters and you get a free 5x7 photo.

4. There have been some specials, but I think it is usually just that Disney Visa people get a few days advance opportunity from others.

Periodically we also get coupons for 15 percent off Disney Store or Disney Store online.

One benefit is a little bit of Disney magic in your wallet...It does always remind me of WDW!

We got it entirely for the 20% discount on the tours. We don't carry a balance but have been doing all our shopping on it for the last couple months and think that by the time we go (about 5 months after getting the card) we'll probably have gotten about enough points for 1 TS meal or a couple of T-shirts or other souvenirs.

You don't get extra points when you pay for your trip with your Disney Visa. There are times of the year when you get extra points for certain purchases when your monthly purchases are over some amount (I can't remember details).

If you pay off your credit card every month and you take trips to Disney, it can be worth it. Both times, we have had around $400 in points, and we used it for everything that wasn't included in our package (beer, wine, food, souvenirs, etc.). You can even apply it to a package.

We haven't used for special perks in the parks, but I would love to do a tour with the discount if our kids were older! I have used the World of Disney discount. And I would like to do the Meet and Great at Epcot, but we haven't.

As far as package discounts, the ones for Visa holders come out a week (or less) before they are available to the public. Since I've had the card, I have had a Visa discount once and a public discount once (I couldn't get the Visa discount, but I was able to get the public one a few days later).

The web site has more detailed info that I don't have! http://disney.go.com/visa/today/index.html

We had $500 in points saved up and used it to pay off part of our package. Then by the time we went on our trip I had another $60.00. One night while we were at Disney, I called to have the points put on my rewards card and used my rewards card the next morning to help pay for part of our water park tickets.

We also did the Visa Meet and Greet at Innovention in Epcot. While in line to meet Goofy and Minnie, I had three people come up to me and ask how we were able to get the Meet and Greet because they wanted to do it. Unfortunately, they didn't have the Disney Visa card. My kids loved the meet and greet. They had a Photopass photographer there and we got a number of pictures of our family with the characters and also just the kids interacting with them. You must have your VISA card with you and be the cardholder.

1. You will get extra Disney reward points if you purchase the vacation with your card. Any purchase in fact that is made towards Disney licensed products will gain you 2X the points.

2. AS for the worth of the Disney rewards card: The last trip I went on with my wife we had $400 of Disney points(dollars) to use. You can use the points on anything Disney in the parks including food, memorabilia, etc. We buy almost everything on our card and can get that many points built up over a year or 2 so I think it is worth it.

3. The park benefits are all time Dependant. They will run deals that will allow you to get rooms, tickets, both, or other items for a discounted price. But only at certain times.

4. Yes you will get special vacation packages. Most of them are offered during the slower times (OCT-NOV & JAN-MARCH) and the deals are good as along as you are able to go at those time (and most require a weeks stay).

I hope this helps, I have loved having my Disney Rewards card and it is the only card I will never get rid of.

The meet and greats like this are GREAT examples of some of the park parks you can get with the Disney Visa!!

Thats sounds like an awesome time, we wanted to do that our last visit but it wasn't available at that time.

We have over $500 from our Disney Visa for this trip and I'm going to upgrade our tickets to park hopper and add on the water park option to my son's and my ticket. Dh doesn't care for water parks and he is going to IOA for a day so we will use at least that day for water park and DQ. I'm sure we will be at TL a few more times during our stay too!

I just found out you get free stroller rentals. My kiddos are older, so we don't need this. But that's a couple of $ saved.

Where did you find this information? I have never heard it before, but if it were true that would be great and would be one less thing I would have to drag on the plane.

We got our Disney Visa in February for our September trip. We use it for almost all of our purchases and pay off the balance each month. I think by September we will have accrued at least $150 in rewards dollars with absolutely no effort (we'd be paying with our debit card otherwise, so it's no harder as long as we pay it off each month). We've used the Visa to pay for our airfare and two rooms, plus all of our groceries, Target trips, car repairs, etc. It adds up fast, and it makes it kind of fun to spend $100 at Target and think, "There's $1 for Disney!"

We used a link to a promo for a $100 rewards card for signing up and using the Visa once, so in addition to our rewards dollars we are earning, we also have that. I know the link was on the Budget Board a few weeks ago still, not sure about now. Between the $100 rewards card, the dollars we're accruing, and the Birthday Fun Card (for meerchandise only) we'll get for my birthday, I estimate we'll have over $300 in fun money to spend while we're there. That will go toward tips (we'll have free dining), souvenirs, extra snacks, dinner at T-Rex... My understanding is that you can charge all of these things to your room and then use the rewards dollars to pay that off. Can anyone confirm this?

We're planning to do the Meet and Greet, and I am psyched to hear of the World of Disney discount-we'll definitely use that! We also got to book our free dining package ahead of the general public. I know in years past some value resorts sold out quickly, so I really appreciated the peace of mind that came from getting to go first.

So, the long post is to say that, yes, I definitely feel as though the Visa has been worth it for us. My DH is CHEAP, CHEAP, CHEAP, and he would not go for souvenirs, etc. otherwise-telling him this is basically free money has helped a lot!

We have a disney visa and put our hotel and tickets on there. We have 6 months to pay it off w/o interest.

We have $500 in Diseny dollars for our trip next week. We will use that for anything.

We also pay our balance off each month too.

.

We just got a Disney Visa. I thought I read it was only 1% of all purchases.
Is the above true? I will be very happy if it is.

Starting after this August trip, I am going to charge everything from gas to groceries. We will be making a family trip the following year and i would like to have a little extra money to have a few treats that I don't have to "save" for:) I love the card.

The rewards aren't that great. I have an AmEx Blue card, I use it every place I can. Gas, groceries, vacation etc... Last year I earned a credit of over $700, so one month my bill was $700 less. I saw a review and the Blue is one of the best ones out there, and no annual fee. I have the Disney one only to use where they don't take AmEx.
