Hi, Neighbor!
It's easy to get rewards...just use your card to buy stuff! You earn $1 in rewards for every $100 you spend. That's it...it's not much, but it is something that you can only use for Disney stuff!
When you have accumulated at least $20 in rewards ($2000 in charges), you can "redeem" them. To "redeem" rewards, you request a Visa Rewards Card and tell them how much of you want put on it. There is a minimum of $20 for the first "load". They send you a card, much like a credit card, but without a name on it. Please be aware that any rewards you transfer to the card will expire MUCH sooner than the ones hanging out in your account. For example, I have $57 rewards left on my card which expire in December 2008, but I have over $400 rewards in my account (that haven't been transferred to a card) and they don't expire until 2012. You can have up to 2 active rewards cards at a time. If you need more, you have to wait until one has expired. The expiration date is generally December of the year after you request it. Once you have a card, you can transfer any amount of rewards to it with a minimum of $10. I LOVE this! I can find something I want in the
Disney Store, get on my cell phone and call the 800# on the card. I can tell them how much to transfer and by the time I am at the checkout, the rewards are there! I am very careful to only transfer amounts that I know will not go to waste. There is a "safety net" if you find yourself nearing the expiration date and you have unspent rewards. You can buy a Disney gift card with the rewards card and, "poof", no expiration!
There are a lot of places you can use the rewards card. We've used ours to pay for rooms, tickets, food, room charges (i.e.
DDP), DVC annual dues and pretty much anything in the parks. When you're at WDW, the rewards card is accepted almost everywhere that takes a credit card. You can also use it online at disneyshopping.com and at the Disney Stores. I haven't explored the other ways you can use it. I think you can somehow get tickets to Disney movies in the theatres also.
I've set up my Disney Visa as our "bill card". Every bill we have gets charged automatically to the Visa and we pay it off every month. We've got electric, gas, cable, phone, cell phone, newspaper, garbage, car insurance and our kids' Disney book club all billed automatically. This way, we earn rewards and we only get 3 bills a month....car payment, mortgage and credit card. Saves a lot on stamps!

In the 5 years that we've had it, we've accumulated almost $1700 in rewards!
