Not sure if this is the appropriate place to post this but it does pertain to our wedding. We just applied for the Disney Reward credit card a couple of days ago. I want to have it in time to pay for part or all of the wedding to get rewards. I have read that other brides have done that. We have great credit so I was surprised when the box popped up that we would hear a response in 30 days or less. In the past, when applying for a credit card, I always got approved instantly. Is this response the norm with the Disney card? And if so, how long did it take for you to receive it as we have to pay off the wedding at the end of the month. TIA!

It's a credit card by Chase. You get rewards for using it. I don't have it yet so not sure about the rewards. Right now, they also have 0% interest for a yr. They also have 0% interest for 6mos on disney vacations you book.

We need a Disney Rewards expert to help us so I know how to utilize my rewards for the wedding. :teacher:

We both got one about a year ago (we received them within 2 weeks of applying but with the credit crackdown, I'm not surprised that Chase is quoting you a 30 day turn around time). We have used it for everything: airfare/food/hotels for the planning session in May, everything that we buy, and then everything for the wedding. It's definitely worth it IF you pay it off every month because the interest will catch up with you.

About 6 weeks before our departure, we ordered the rewards cards to allow processing and mail time. Then, when the last bill posted before the wedding (ie last week), we transferred the remaining rewards dollars to the rewards cards. Rather than dragging them around with us, we applied them to our room (9 nights at the Grand Floridian) and the rewards dollars are paying for a significant chunk of our hotel bill.

Yours should arrive in time!!!

This is the rewards structure:
You get 1 point for every $100 made in purchases on the card.
1 point = $1 in Disney dollars.

I like to transfer the points to a Disney gift card and use them to help pay for trips, but you can also get certificates to use in stores for Disney DVDs, music, toys, movie tickets, etc.

You also get special offers from Disney with it! I get emails for like discounts for like disney broadway shows and stuff like that. And the cards just too cute, I have the one with Ariel! I think I've earned like $55 so far to use for my honeymoon! Every little bit helps, right? You also get 0% financing on disney trips for like 6 months or something? I don't remember all the details for sure!! Oh, one more perk, you get discounts if you book different tours and stuff at disney world. We're considering doing Dolphins in Depth and I think it's like 20%! It's definately good to have if you're a disney lover!

There's also a special Disney Visa cardholders only character greeting in Innoventions in Epcot. And they offer bonus points sometimes. For example, I recently got a postcard where if I entered the code on the website and spent at least $750 in airline tickets, groceries, gas and dining out in January - March, I get 5x bonus points.
I waited til January 1st to buy plane tickets to Orlando :thumbsup2

Other than the Disney designs on the card ;) I think the exclusive Character Greeting is one of the BEST perks about having a Disney Visa card. We had some engagement pictures taken with Mickey, Minnie and Goofy. (Your time with them depends on the length of the line.) They are fabulous, and you get a free 5x7 print each time you visit.
