Disney Rewards Card - DH Was Happy

I was able to accumulate $100 disney rewards dollars, and sent for a rewards card. I gave it to DH to use for pins during our Easter trip. DH was thrilled, and felt like he was spending someone else's money,( I know its only a discount), but DH was happy and when he is happy, I am happy.

$100 ~ That is awesome. I have already accumulated 20 points in my first month of using the card on stuff I would have written checks for/used debit card for anyway. Free money and guilt-free too! Hope DH has fun buying pins!

I've finally got a system I'm happy with on accumulating those points! I charge EVERYTHING - but then I go on line and make a payment every other day so that I'm not charging more then I realize I am! I have a tendency to not keep up with my charges like I should so I'd gotten where I never used it except for gas, on-line purchases and travel. But now I can accumulate the points without accumulating the debt!

I tried to charge my mortgage payment - but they said I'd have to do a cash advance to do that Sort of defeats the purpose!! That sure would have been nice though!

Another option for keeping current with charges would be to treat your disney visa like a debit card. Whenever you make a purchase, write the amount in your checkbook. This way, the money is already deducted, less chance that you may spend it somewhere else. When you receive your statement, make your payment with the already deducted money. Just thought I would pass along another idea.

My husband said we could use it for trip purchases (tickets, etc.) , gas and groceries only. In a year, we have managed to earn $200. Not bad!!!

luvmk ~ That is also what I do. I treat the Disney Visa transactions like a debit card. I use the card for purchases/bills and then subtract from my checkbook register. That way I have the money to pay the bill every month and carry no balance. Just paid my first bill and earned $20 in rewards. I was pretty happy with it although DH thinks I am a nut.

We charge everything gas, cable bill,cell phones I MEAN EVERYTHING.We are going in july we already have $250 in points saved.Thats going to make a good free dinner somewhere.

I, too, use mine like a debit card. I write it in my checkbook so the money is already "deducted" from my account.

We're doing some remodelling on our home and I've accumulated over $400 in reward dollars. My goal is to hit the $750 limit.

Remeber, if your a DVC member, you can use the reward dollars to pay your yearly maintenance fees.

This is EXACTLY what I do. It works great! I just write *Dis Visa* in the space for check # so I remember that it was my Dis Visa that I used. In the past 2 months, I haven't used my Visa Check Card at all!! (except in the ATM, of course!)

I use the Dis Visa everywhere I would use my debit card. Since I never have cash on me, that is all the time!! LOL
