Disney Rewards Card and Counter Service

I have a Disney Visa card and I am compiling the rewards points to use on my next trip in May. The last time I used my points they were just issuing certificates and now they put all of your points on a card. My question is for anyone who has used their rewards points lately. Do they accept the points at all counter service in the parks and how does it work with the card? Do they swipe it like a credit card and it just deducts points automatically from the card? I appreciate any help that you can give

All of the counter service where we ate accepted the rewards card. They swiped it just like the room key, and we were then give a receipt showing the total amount of the bill and the total left on the reward card--very easy--actually easier than signing the room charge.

We tried to use ours at Fulton's Crab House in DTD and they do not accept the Rewards Card. Just a heads up

Rainforest Cafe can not take the rewards cards either. But I was pleasantly surprised to find that the outdoor carts (Mickey bars, soda, etc.) can take them!

Hi, I had thought I would use my Reward card for the counter serve and kiosks as it would save me having me to get out cash and such but I found it to be as much trouble, have to get out the card, swipe it, sign the receipt and put everything back so I just started using it when we went to sit down restaurants as I would have charged to the room anyway and it was no more trouble JMO

The rewards card works great at all Disney owned locations (including most carts). The places were you can't use it are not owned by Disney.
We used ours at several counter service restaurants last year.

Used mine alot this last trip at counter service and also at store at BCV. Very convenient and the receipt tells you whats left. Used $160 this trip (12/25-12/31/04) and currently have $590 for our July3-8 trip with with 5 months more to accrue..lots of meals and some of Poly room hopefully!
