I’ve been slowing earning rewards on my Disney Visa and am just about ready to order my first Reward Redemption Card. I know that it can be used similarly to a gift card or credit card at point of sale locations, and I see that it can be applied towards vacation packages, but is it possible to buy just theme park admission tickets with it? How do I do that? I do realize this is not necessarily my cheapest way to buy tickets. Alternatively can it be used to pay for just the Disney Dining Plan? I’ll be traveling with DVC members so no “package” will be purchased. The website isn’t great at explaining how rewards can be redeemed for individual components.

Would I be better off in any way if I used my Redemption Reward Card to purchase a regular gift card and then pay for tickets or the dining plan with that?

Thanks so much for any help

If you are staying in a DVC resort on points, the owner has to add the dining plan and everyone on the reservation must buy it. The owner calls Member Services to add it and pays for it at that time. You should be able to use a Redemption card to pay for it.

Disney ticketing will also accept the card for full or partial payment. You can do it online thru MDE or you can call ticketing.

Sorry I do know how paying for the dining plan and member services all works. I realize I didn’t explain that. When I go with these members I just reimburse them for the cost of my meal plan and everyone is in fact on the DDP. I’m just trying to figure out what my Redemption Card can be used for and how it gets used so that I can use that to pay for as much of my trip as possible

It is just a gift card called something else - use it anywhere in the park for extras or you can ask them to apply it to the hotel room charges at the end.

We usually use it to cover the tips/extra snacks/shirt/etc

I used my Rewards card to pay for most of our tickets to Disneyland on our last trip; it's super easy to do if you're doing it online.

I used mine last year for food booths at the F & W fest. Worked out great!

We use ours every year at Disney. It uses just like a Disney gift card. If you want to use it to pay for your portion of the dining plan, the dvc member can give the card number to member services. You can also use it thru the Disney site to purchase tickets. I have done this many times.

It sounds like your friend who is DVC fronts (pays) for the DDP and you simply reimburse him/her. Tell that person you’d like to pay with your Rewards Redemption Card if they haven’t already paid for the dining plan. If they have, use your Rewards for something else - tickets is good, souvenirs, extra snacks not covered by the DDP, etc.

Enjoy your vacation!

I always use ours for a big souvenir purchase because you get the 10% off for using the Disney Visa, but you can pay with the rewards card.
