Well I decided to check my Disney Visa account online today and noticed that my reqards dollars was a -1. So I called to ask them why and they asked if I had a credit from anything and I said yes (because I got a discount using the BAT code on one night room reservation, that I originally paid for with my disney visa) well since I got a credit back they take away points from your card because you no longer have that purchase.....I had no idea about that!! Glad I called.

It does make sense for them to do this though. If they didn't, people could charge lots of stuff, take it back, and still get discounts on Disney purchases. Sounds like it would be great fir us but wouldn't make sense from a business point of view.

On all of my reward cards they are only for purchases, if there are credits it removes rewards.
This may sound really silly, but when I reported that someone had used my card to make purchases that were unauthorized they told me that they would have to deduct the rewards associated with those purchases. At the time I thought "well, duh." However after I hung up I wondered what they were thinking--oh,"yes I'll pay $1200 in unauthorized charges to keep the $12 bonus?" I don't think so!

Patsal,

When you say "unauthorized" charges, did someone get ahold of your CC # and "make" themselves a card? We just had that happen to us - they only made $800 in unauthorized purchases in our case! It wasn't our Disney Visa, but it was a rewards card thru Bank One. When I got the bill and called to say "not our's" the rep who took our call got a little huffy with me - "Well, those charges WERE swiped" (meaning someone had a card, but DH and I both had our's). It's a yucky feeling, isn't it?
