There are tons of options and I'm sure others know many of them better than I. One family style italian place I'll recommend is Cariera's in the Marketplace at Dr. Phillips. We were there in Oct and wished we'd have had a second day to go back. I believe they do have an online listing if you want to look at their menu.
Two we like offsite are Charley's Steak House and Columbia.
There are several locations of Charley's, including two on I-Drive quite close to WDW. Charley's is a VERY good steakhouse, comparable to Shula's at least and certainly better food than any Disney outlets we've tried. Not cheap, but great food and excellent service.
Columbia is in Celebration, and it's a Spanish restaurant (not Cuban, Spanish) based in Tampa. Very nice atmosphere, wonderful and interesting food and gracious service. Plus, it's not overpriced.
We've pretty much stopped eating onsite because of the menu standardization and gutting of the DDP -- except for an occasional character meal. The popular chain restaurants offsite offer food that is just as good as any of the Disney outlets, much more variety, and much lower pricing.
We tried Earl Of Sandwich on our last trip. We ate lunch their and it was delicious! Lots of different sandwich choices, soups, pizzas. Great for a quick dinner. Nice fireplace, AAA discount and great food!
