I was wondering how to call a restaurant and talkt o them instead of just calling the dinning number. Is there somewhere where you can find these numbers?

Unfortunatley, you can't call the restaurant directly. Once you are at WDW, the hotel concierge can get in touch with them for you, but as a guest you can not call them directly. They do not have enough staffing to consistently man the phone. Disney dining (407-WDW-DINE) will assist you with your dining requests, ADR and any basic dietary requests you may have. If your request is not something the dining line can accomodate and/or you need to talk to the chef directly for special dietary needs they can put you in contact with them.

Any guest can contact the restaurants directly. You just need to get transferred to the central switchboard or park guest relations and they will either transfer you or give you the number.

Do you know the number to call so you can get traferred over to the restaurants?

I usually just call the resort I will be staying at directly and ask to be transferred from there. I think allears.net has the resort numbers.

The main switchboard is 407-824-2222. They can connect you to any phne on property. They can also answer most of your questions.

If you want to talk to someone at the restaurants, you would have to generally ask for the kitchen or the manager. If you ask for the podium basically you would have to explain why (since they would prefer you go through Dining).

Chesire Figment is right...

Also, as Humphrey mentioned there are not publicly listed phone numbers for guests to call because they can not handle the call capacity that would come in. A Disney CM, be it through guest services, hotel concierge, the switchboard, etc. can get you in touch with the restaurant, but they will make sure that it warrants a direct call first. Your post didn't say WHY you would need to call the restaurant directly, it kind of came off as wanting to bypass the Dining line. Each restaurant (or area of restaurants depending on the location) has a number you can call if you need special dietary assistance... if that is what you are looking for make sure that the CM you speak to knows that and they can put you through to the right place. But the Dining line can help you with most of your dining needs and requests.

1) Why do you want to call?
2) If it is a dietary issue, you handle that 24-hrs before the ADR.
3) If it is a ressie, call the dining number at 407-WDW-DINE.
4) If it is for a cake or something for dinner, call room service or the bakery.

NOTE: As mentioned, when you try to talk with the chef, you WILL be asked why you want to call. Then the chef is asked if he will take the call. Most people do not get to talk with chefs, except for dietary issues/problems.

I am gluten and dairy intolerant. When I made ADRs, I had this added to my ressies. Most/much of the time, the CM on the phone volunteered the restaurant's direct number (if they didn't, I asked for it, and was given it).

I'm not travelling for a while yet, so I haven't actually called the numbers yet, so I cannot comment on how easy it is to speak to the chef. I do know, however, that WDW is great for food issues (I have been emailing a CM in charge of dietary issues).

If you must call the restuarant directly, it is a good idea to call at an appropriate time - like between meal times in the afternoon. At 3:30pm, there will likely be a staff member to answer, but you won't be calling during the dinner rush.
