Chase Freedom Visa has 5% back this quarter begging the question: Do Disney restaurants (both counter service and table service) submit your charges as "restaurant" or "theme park"? That will make the difference if I put everything on my Chase Freedom or run out to Target for 5% back on Disney Cards using the Red Card. Thoughts?

I know that Discover categorizes ithem as theme park or equivalent. I was upset a few years ago.

Hmmmm.... my guess is that Disney decides how they send it to the credit card company....maybe we'll get more answers....

Disney does decide, but not on a per transaction basis. They classify themselves when they create a merchant agreement with credit card processors. They select an mcc (merchant category code) and that is how categories are determined. I doubt that each restaurant has its own agreement, so they're probably all Disney world - theme park. Maybe third party restaurants are classed differently.
