Disney Resort Shampoo/Soap Question

Just wondering, does anyone know if the little bottles of shampoo and little soaps that are left in the room at Disney Resorts are the same throughout the properties? In other words, are they all the same at the value, moderate and deluxe resorts?

No idea why I was wondering, just seemed like a good question to ask at the moment. And yes, I know I too much time on my hands! :rotfl2:

No, they are not. Deluxe/DVC properties get different than the moderates. I have never stayed in a value, so I can't speak to that.

Club level also gets a few more items normally than regular rooms.

Suites get even higher-end products in bigger containers.

What you get isn't even standardized among resorts in the same class, which annoys me greatly because it makes it difficult to pack for weekend/short trips where I like to pack as light as possible. I stayed in 5 resorts last year between moderate (2), deluxe (2), and villa (1). Only two rooms out of them contained all the toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, soap, and lotion) - one was a moderate and one was deluxe.

I have stayed at pop century and port orleans riverside within the past year. They both gave exactly the same..shampoo/conditioner combo, face soap, and body soap.

I believe all products are H2O. From past experience CSR, deluxe and DVC get a higher end product line. These products are shampoo, conditioner, soap and body lotion. Other moderates and value get a shampoo/conditioner combo and soap.

All are H2O+ products as the PP mentioned. Values and moderates except CSR have one line, which includes a shampoo/conditioner combo. CSR and the deluxes and DVCs (except Grand Floridian) have separate shampoo and conditioner, along with bar soap and body lotion. Grand Floridian has the H2O+ Spa line, which is also on DCL.

During our last several DVC BCV stays, we've had the shampoo, conditioner, bar soap (both face and body types), and shower gel - we have not received body lotion.

Again, body lotion and shower gel are not at all deluxe resorts.

At all resorts, expect to get a shampoo/conditioner combo or separate shampoo and conditioner, plus bar soap. Anything else should be considered a bonus because it is definitely not available across the board.

They sell the H2O line at the resorts and I found a big selection of it in the Tower of Terror gift shop too....which was kind of funny. So you can still forgo packing the toiletries and just buy them there....albeit a bit pricey. I don't really care for the shampoo/conditioner combination stuff, so we take our own. I also take my Mickey and Minnie soap pumps and put them by the sink with liquid hand soap in them.....bar soap isn't our thing either.

I wish they had some great products that made you want to buy them and take them home with you to enjoy all year....we've stayed at a lot of hotels that have Bath and Body line....etc and it's nice to find something unique like that in your room.

I've also received Solar Relief Gel at a few DLX resort. Not sure if they all offer it, but that's a nice one.

I love the H2O separate shampoo as opposed to the shampoo and conditioner combo :rolleyes1

We just got back from Pop Century, so I can say for sure they only have the shampoo/conditioner and bar soap.

All three levels here and I'm not a fan of combo sham/cond anyway so that's pretty much a no go whatever the brand but I did try the WDW stuff because everyone was talking about the H20 brand.

Value and Mod=not really great sham/cond combo (well crappy in fact I won't use it and I have really low mainanence hair), decent soap small bar and bath bar but no soap dish.

Deluxe= okay shampoo and conditioner individuals (I used these and hoarded them when I moved to a Mod for the rest of my stay. I wouldn't want to use them for more than a few days but they were useable for the length of vacation). Soap that seemed the same as the Value and Mod, small and large WITH a soap dish :rotfl:. We also got shower gel and lotion and a shower cap or I may have had to ask for the cap, but there was a cap.

Too tell the truth I've really never found any hotel line that was worth it except for one (it may have been a casino resort but I think it was actually a chain like a Hampton or a HI Express) that used a Neutragena line and it was actually usable.

My one and only really big pet peeve is the soap dish. Honestly who wants to have thier soap sitting on the counter. Ick.
