disney resort or universal first

we are staying 12 nites so im really thinking of 8 nites disney and 4 universal should i do disney first or universal and is this a good idea?

I would do US/IOA first, it all builds up to staying at Disney! We did our first 4 days at US/IOA then did 5 days at Disney.

If you're planning on staying at one of Universal's 3 resorts, definately do disney first.

Having front of the line at Universal is wonderful & such a change from the lines at Disney (even with fast pass). We did this last year & walking on all the rides & never waiting for restaurants was the perfect way to end our vacation.

We also found that the Portofino Bay was much nicer than the Boardwalk Villas. (Don't flame me here).....Much better service & nicer rooms.

Tink10 is right on! FOTL is sooooo nice, It is hard to go back to lines/fastpass after the "star" treatment at USF/IOA. The HRH is the nicest resort I have stayed at....bar none...I LOVE WDW, but you are much more pampered at Universal!

I was hoping everybody would say do US/IOA first because that's what we have booked. I hope we don't get too spoiled by FOTL (we're staying at HRH) but I can't imagine that it will take the place of Disney magic.

When we do both...we always stay at Universal first. We always stay in HRH, PB, or RP and are able to utilize FOTL access. Usually 4 nights at Universal and 7-10 at a Disney Resort.

We also buy the 5 Day Universal Pass online for around $95 per person. This give us unlimited access to IOA/USF for 5 consecutive days.

Obviously, it comes down to personal preference. We do Universal first because we want the bulk of our vacation in WDW and we want to have the Disney experience last.

Either way......enjoy!

We did Disney first and it worked out great. I don't think I would have had the patience for Disney lines after FOTL access all day!

We're doing Disney first in May so we don't compare it to FOTL at Universal =) I fear we'll just be disappointed in WDW standing in lines after that...
