Can anyone recommend a good Disneyland resort hotel, or even good neighbor hotel best suited for an infant?. I don't want to be very far from our hotel with a 9 month old and two 7 year olds. We initially had our hearts set to stay at the Disneyland hotel, but after doing some research it doesn't seem as close to the park as I thought. Also has anyone ever used the contracted sitter services available through many of the hotels?. I love the idea but I am scared to leave my LO with a complete stranger. I prefer not to bring him to the park, it will be too warm and I would rather keep him on his nap schedule.

Of the 3 on site hotels, the GCH is probably closest to the DL park gates and has its own entrance into DCA. But you would have to request a room close to the front, not one far back. The rooms furthest in the back require quite a bit of walking to and from the park gates. I haven't used the recommended sitter services available through the on site hotels, but I've heard positive reports. Another option for you might be Nanny in the Kingdom or a similar service. As for off site hotels, the Best Western Park Place Inn is right across Harbor at the crosswalk (very close). Getting back and forth to the parks is quite easy from that hotel. I hope you find something that works out for you.

Disneyland Hotel is about an 8 min walk from the parks, slightly less if you are a fast walker. If I was being hired to watch a 9 mos old in a hotel, it would be my choice. Are you going to let the person take the child for walks? The grounds are beautiful. Have you considered bringing a family friend/relative to help instead of a stranger? (We used Fullerton Child Care when we needed to hire in Anaheim, but have often brought teens to help when needed.)

Just to be clear -- you don't actually contract for sitter services through any of the Disney hotels. They can give you a list, but you contract with the sitter yourself; neither Disney nor the hotel are involved.

We have also used Fullerton Child Care (in fact, I think that's the agency we got the number for from the hotel). My kids were older than yours and didn't report any problems. We've used them twice ... both times they sent us women that were maybe in their 40s/50s.
