Disney Resort ID Cards.

Hi.

Next week I’m going with my family to Port Orleans French Quarter. My question is about these "Resort ID Cards" I keep hearing about. Can anyone tell me about it...and how vital it is? Can you get into the pool without them... or are we going to have to carry around photo id cards from Disney everywhere?

Depending on what sort of ticket you have, it might be your ticket. It will also definitely be your room key. It's always a good idea to carry your regular ID or DL with you. I always carry both with me and they don't take up much room.

I have stayed at several resorts and so far I have never been asked for one at the pool. From what I hear SAB pool you might be asked for it but I think that is about it.

SAB = StormAlongBay It's the pool for the Yacht Club and Beach Club.

The resort ID's didn't have photos on them the last time I was there.

No the ID's do not have your photo on them, just your name.

Actually just the name of the person whose name the reservation is under, and the dates of your stay. It will be your room key, could be activated to charge to your room if you would like. In theory it could be required to access a pool, Disney Transportation, etc... though I've only been asked to show it when going in to EMH of when getting my bracelet for the old E-Ride night. I also use them to give to my grandkids to use as a "Tink Credit Card" after we get home (the last few times they have had Tink on them).

If you want to get 5 in a room, stay at POR-AB. It's 'legal' there!! Otherwise someone isn't going to have a room key, which you are going to need for identification for EMHs. And those double beds are going to get a wee bit crowded with 3 in one and 2 in another. Unless, of course, that fifth person is under 3 and is therefor in a pack and go!

POR-AB has the trundle beds that will allow for a fifth person.

That is cool. My 3.5 year old is going to love having his name on his card. Is this at all the resorts or just select resorts? Staying at All-star Sports.
