Disney Resort Guests to Have Access to Additional Dining Reservations

Sounds interesting wonder how it will work out, we were just at Bay Lake Towers and would have loved that option when trying to get Chef Mickeys for Breakfast, turns out we were there during the Hurricane and Chef Mickeys wound up being for hotel guests only at a reduced rate but there were no characters at any of these meals

I know historically they are not connected as far as we know. But on the back end they are, at least now they are. My Feb trip got shifted last year and I had a dining reservation canceled and they said because I moved my dates they canceled the reservations I made at 60+5. I tried to cancel them and I couldn’t. They were still showing on the MDE, I called and they were already canceled on the back end, but never came off MDE.

I don’t think it happens often, but i did experience it. I wish they did it more often, cause I think most people are working the system.
So do all your reservations made at 60 days get cancelled or just the days that you are no longer staying on property?

I’ve never done this (resorts/rooms we stay at are usually booked up and hard to change) but I believe that’s also a loophole people have been using to book hard to get ADRs.

Disney is probably aware and trying to stop this just like they have stopped the campsite bookings (without checkin) to gain fast pass advantages.

I hope Disney is cracking down, because it makes it impossible to get good reservations for short trips! But I also see why it happens, Disney crated this monster, they need to figure out how to fix it, not that I have any ideas.

I don’t know I haven’t heard other stories of this happening, if people are trying to beat the system they aren’t going to admit it happened. I had all the ones I made at 60 days canceled, but it was only 2/3 so who knows 🤷🏻‍♀️.

Are you staying at AK? I hoped to do an early birthday dinner at Boma, but it's super booked. We are at OKW so maybe that will give a hint who can access these ADRs. :-)
No we are staying at the Poly but even when we stay at AOA we take a cab to Boma. I am still not sure anything after 12/13 opened up. We always book Boma once or twice a trip.

I'm looking at Chef Mickey right now for 60 days plus 10 and the only breakfast time available is 7:55 AM or 12:05. At 60 plus 10 there should be at least one time in between. Are they holding back THIS many for onsite guests? If so, that's a huge change.

Yes. Per the chat screenshot post 12

The change is annoying, and we are huge Topolinos and Boma fans, but it’s fair that resort guests have first access at 60 days. They should release any that are not booked AND communicate when they will be released (eg 30 days). I’m sure they won’t want to loose money and will release them.

I would definitely set up some alerts if it’s a must do.

Yes, I understood that some of the inventory would be held back. I didn't think it would be ALL of the inventory at peak times. That's vastly different from what I expected.

I don’t think all is being held back it’s just many dates are sold out (park passes are gone so it will be super crowded). I could be wrong.

Yes and, obviously, the only guests who could be booking at 60+10 are resort guests. No need to hold back so many reservations at that point! If this is the new policy implementation, it doesn’t make much sense.

I was looking at 6 AM Eastern at 60+10. I think it's all of them (at least at this location) during a specified block of time.

Eventually someone will get fed up of seeing Mickey and the gang every morning of their trip. Fingers crossed that you get it.

Thanks! I'll be fine if I don't. There are other reservations I care about a lot more on this trip. But I did find it to be a very interesting data point in all of this.

When we did Space220 (it had just opened two months prior), the food was so bad we saw cancellations for the tail end of our trip. People who are double booked will be dropping the ADRs once they experience how bad and time consuming dining has gotten.

But no one can get reservations further ahead than 60+10 at 6:00 a.m. when Mom2rtk was looking! So something else must be going on.

I'm really hoping this helps us secure a late-lunch/early-dinner reservation at Beaches and Cream for our trip. Staying at BC, would be trying to get it for our second day.

Thought we would eat there before heading over to DHS after-hours.

I wonder if they're holding them until people are actually onsite. But that seems really risky when Disney visitors are conditioned to believe everything is booked up ahead of time. Plus, it's very hard for us to change plans around last minute for a dining reservation once I get the rest of my plans set. My hunch is that these will get dumped out there at some point, and I won't be watching so will miss them.

I'm staying at BCV in December and did my ADRs this week. I saw a decent amount of availability for Beaches and Cream for any time of the day. This was at 60+1 and 2.
