Disney Resort Guests to Have Access to Additional Dining Reservations

Yes, I looked this morning for our upcoming trip, (staying at GF), yet there was some availability (mainly on Sunday’s) for a couple of the mentioned restaurants that I was able to see and book. Didn’t see any Beaches or Chef Mickey’s, but mostly times for Toppolino’s, SH 71 and GF Cafe.
amazing, I will be staying at BWV in Feb 2023 and really want a topolino's breakfast

Interesting. Historically dining and resort reservations haven't been tied (i.e. canceling a resort reservation doesn't/didn't cancel your dining ADRs). I wonder if that will change with this.
I know historically they are not connected as far as we know. But on the back end they are, at least now they are. My Feb trip got shifted last year and I had a dining reservation canceled and they said because I moved my dates they canceled the reservations I made at 60+5. I tried to cancel them and I couldn’t. They were still showing on the MDE, I called and they were already canceled on the back end, but never came off MDE.

I don’t think it happens often, but i did experience it. I wish they did it more often, cause I think most people are working the system.

So where is this information on the WDW website? I just want to keep on top of it as well as extended deluxe hours (hoping 1/2 Epcot).

Great, the only trip out of over 30 that we have planned to stay offsite (staying on points at a major chain Disney Springs hotel)…. And now no Boma reservations … the only restaurant we ALWAYS do. They could have at least publicized this before it was within the 60 days mark.

I don’t think this policy means you can’t book Boma.

How nice would it be if they created a wait list that would automatically grab a reservation if it came open for resort guests or DVC members. That would be much appreciated so that we wouldn't have to be so quick on the draw when we get a mouse watcher alert.

I was thinking that these dedicated WDW resort reservations won’t even show up for the bots used by the dining alert systems.

This is good news. However, we'll have to see how this plays out in the long run. They haven't been very specific about which hotels (good neighbor? Swan? etc. ) selfishly I hope they don't allow from the non-site hotels.

Someone already posted that SwanAndDolphin aren’t included based on their chat

The Walt Disney World® Swan Hotel and Walt Disney World® Dolphin Hotel are not owned or operated by Disney and are not included in what you were discussing with earlier in terms of select restaurants setting aside reservations for Guests with a linked Disney owned and operated Resort reservation. Guests of these hotels, however, are able to book reservations for restaurants beginning at 60 days prior to arrival (as early as 5:45 AM ET).

I understand that, but I have been up at 5:50 for the last 6 mornings and no reservations available at Boma when there were many available up until the 13th of December… and now even those have disappeared. And, in more than 30 visits, I have never had trouble getting a Boma reservation. Some trips we have even eaten there twice!

We're staying onsite and can't get Boma reservations. They haven't released any past 12/13 for anybody. I keep checking multiple times a day.

But now all of the reservations for Boma, even before the 13th have disappeared too. Up until yesterday afternoon, there were available times for Boma on almost every date between now and the 13th. They are now gone. I cannot believe that every reservation spot was taken from yesterday afternoon until last night.
UPDATE: the spots for the 13th and previous are now back.

Looking at it more, I think this might be their way of quietly nerfing ADR notification services. If all the canceled ADRs for a popular restaurant get put in the "resort only" bookable bucket, then notification apps won't be able to see them when they check. Which, ironically will hinder the ability of people with resort reservations to find the ADR they are looking for, especially those of us who do short stays.
