Starting this past Tuesday, October 18, select table-service restaurants at Disney Resort hotels will set aside a limited number of reservations exclusively for Disney Resort hotel Guests to book for dates during their stay.

Guests with a valid Disney Resort hotel reservation may get access to these dining reservations when they are available. To gain access to these dining reservations, Disney Resort hotel Guests must link their hotel reservation and book on DisneyWorld.com or via the My Disney Experience app.

The number of these Disney Resort hotel Guest reservations is limited and varies daily. Disney Resort hotel Guest reservations are subject to change and may be unavailable on certain dates, including peak periods or during special dining events.

While it will not seem fair to offsite guests, for the price guests pay (and pay big) to stay on property this actually makes sense. However, I do wonder if there are some hidden gotchas - like its only for Deluxe Resort guests and Disney will once again make their Moderate & Value resort guets feel second class.

I am not totally clear but I got the impression this would be for the resort that you're staying at, not that all on-site guests have access to a separate pool of all hotels.

Since deluxes have the most/best restaurants with ADRs, it most benefits deluxe guests by default. At least, if it works how I'm imagining.

Sounds like enough hotel guests have gotten very, very angry that they couldn't find anywhere to sit down and eat on their vacation.

I agree it make sense that if you are staying at the hotel you should be able to EAT at the restaurants on site.

So you don't have to be a guest at the specific resort to be eligible? For example-if I'm staying at the Poly am I eligible to book a reservation at Steakhouse 71?

That's how I interpret it ... you just need to be a guest at any WDW owned and operated resort, although hopefully there's a list of said resorts somewhere.

Are the additional dining reservations only available for guests staying at THAT hotel, or for all hotels? For example, if we're staying at Beach Club Villas, I imagine that we have an increased opportunity for reservations at Beaches and Cream. However, if we're staying at Old Key West, is our opportunity for reservations the same as it would be at BCV, or do we now have the same chance as off-site guests since we're not staying at THAT hotel. However, we do have an increased chance now for reservations at Olivia's. Either way is OK-just looking for clarification.

I wish they would just let on site guests book their dining, magical extras etc. at 90 days out and leave everyone else at 60 days. Seems like a free way for Disney to incentivize people to stay on property since every other benefit has pretty much disappeared.
