for a birthday celebration, was looking to rent a DVC or Moderate hotels. Aside from this board and WDW site, where do Florida residents book?

thanks. Looking for only 2 to 3 nights if it matters. FIRST TIME ! thanks

I generally call to book and ask for the Florida resident rate. If they haven't released one for my time-frame yet, I will go ahead and book it and watch the DIS for the newest discounts. When it is available, I call back to see if the new discount can be applied to my reservation. Sometimes you have to change resorts or views to get the discount, as only a certain number of rooms per category can be booked with a particular discount. Hope this helps!

thanks claire. i'm going to do this. how do you (personally) find the discounts? do you mean a pin in an email or? thanks again

I check here on the DIS-boards - usually there is some info about it. You can check here:

http://www.wdwinfo.com/discounts.html

It's the link from the top of this page where it says "Discounts" in the 2nd line of text under the top banner ad. From there, click Florida residents. Also, from the disneyworld.com website, at the bottom there's a link for Florida resident deals. The new website is kind of cumbersome and slow at the moment, so I haven't used it as much lately.
