Hi Everyone!

I'm a DVC member, but I typically don't like using points on weekends because the point totals are double.

I called Disney Reservations to see if there was an AP rate with the dining card at AKL for the weekend of Oct. 26 - 28. As I figured, there was nothing available at AKL. In fact the CM helping me said nothing was available at the passholder rate anywhere on property; value, mod, or deluxe. There were only suites available at over $1000 per night. That's out of my price range. :). I went through this process twice thinking that maybe the first CM didn't or couldn't find the passholder rates. Both times nothing was available anywhere

Anyway, I went out to the passholder site and started looking around. I found the special offers section and decided to plug in my dates just to see for myself. I selected AKL from the list of resorts and believe it or not the passholder rate was available with the dining card. Needless to say I booked the offer immediately and I'm very happy.

Here's my question, is there two seperate inventories maintained by Disney Reservations; one for the website and another for CRO? This is my only conclusion as to how something like this can happen. Does anyone else have any other ideas?

Just a note to anyone looking for a passholder rate who couldn't get one calling Disney Reservation, check the passholder site. You might have better luck.

The same thing happened to me a couple of days ago. We had POP for Oct. 22 & 23, and I always check the AP website for AKL with no luck before. Then it popped up at $185 p/night for the two nights with the dining card. Since I had to cancel Pop, I thought I'd just call CRO and book it so they could cancel my other ressie. And she couldn't find the night and rate I had on the screen right in front of me. Her advice was, if you could book it at that rate online, grab it, then call back to cancel the other ressie. So that's what I did - so now for my DH's 40th, we have two nights at AKL and three at SSR

Same thing happened to me...I have Pop for mid December at the AP rate from WDT. I went online and found the POFQ at the AP rate. I didn't want to book online because of the cancellation policy. I called WDT and the CM said there were no AP rates available at any moderate for my mid December stay. I'll stay with Pop for now with the dining card. I will keep calling back.

What's the difference in cancellation policy when you book online? I usually book online because I'm too busy to call and also like to "see for myself" what's out there and play around with dates to get what I want since I'm flexible. I thought the cx policy was always the same- guess I'd better read the fine print!---Kathy

The online cancellation is the same as for a package -- 45 days!

Been said many times, many ways... Merry Chr... oops ;)

Currently:
On-line is WDTC
Call in room only is CRO
Call in for a package in WDTC

Each has their own inventory and set number of room and types to choose from. Just because one inventory is gone, does not mean they all are depleted.
If you contacted AAA, you would probably find something different yet.

Aahh...thanks for the explanation. I always try to help friends plan their vacations and have so much fun doing it but usually book online. So far I've not been able to find "something" suitable but now I'll know better and if something preferred isn't available, I'll call. Thanks for clearing that up. I'm just glad the cx policy is the same and it makes sense then not to book online if it's w/in 45 days to avoid a penalty.---Kathy

We have experienced the exact opposite.

We have been looking online for the "$59.00" Passholder rate for a value resort for a quick family trip in Oct. It only gave me a rate of $82.00.

I finally called today and the CM was able to find the $59.00 rate.

I guess the lesson is...check all your options.
