Disney reservation and magicband shipping

Hi all,

The last time we went to Disney was before the magicbands. From what I gather, I make my Disney reservation and they will ship the bands a couple weeks before the reservation. The problem is we won't be home the weeks beforehand because we are doing a cross country trip. Will they just give them to us at check in? TIA

If you want, you could get a set of bands online and then link them to your account and take them with you. Just an idea. But yes, I do believe you can pick them up at the desk. You can always call Disney and ask.

Make arrangements for them NOT to ship the MBs, then you can get them at check-in.

If you do not customize your bands - they will have them at the resort. If you customize the bands, they will ship to your address on file, or I believe you can pick an alternate address (perhaps a relative who can then ship them to your resort).

The non-customized bands will all be gray and have no names on the inside - I think I have read some reports where people checking in have been able to ask for different colors.

Thank you. I guess I misunderstood that customized bands will be shipped prior to arrival, unlike normal bands that are given at check in? We're indifferent about the band color but not sure how we feel about wearing a band now. Thanks again.

I don't know how early you are leaving on your trip, but they mail them about 30 days out from the day you arrive at DW. We got ours 23 days before our arrival day.

Yes we always get ours 3-4 weeks prior
