Disney rental price for chiavari chairs?

Our beo has the chairs for $9 each with a $75 delivery fee. The place they're renting the chairs from has limited chair pad colors, so Disney is getting turquoise untextured chair pads from another vendor and we have to pay an extra $9 per chair to have them swap them out! We're just afraid that the crushed turquoise that wouldn't require the change fee would be too much with silver sequin linens.

Thanks, CinderellasBFF. I now worry if that's going to be a problem for us. My floral person was out of town last week, so I'm hoping that I get to have a discussion with her this week. My hope is for gold chairs with a red seat cushion...but I would be fine with black chairs and a red seat cushion. It sounds like I'm not going to have much say!

That said...if the chiaviri chairs can't be at least the main color that I want, then the upgrade won't be happening. If it's outside of my color palette, then it would just look weird to upgrade. For example--my color palette are "Mickey" colors (red, gold, black). If they want to give me a chair that has a turquoise seat cover....that's not going to look good, even if the chair itself is gold. Maybe I'll have to pay an extra $9 a chair to change out the pad now too! Stupid Disney...

Hi Tiffiny,

We were originally going to use Disney for the chairs and up-lighting (we are at the GF St. Augustine C&D), until we got our BEO. The up-lighting charge was ridiculous, so I looked into Chair Caddy Orlando based on recommendations from other brides. We are getting a MUCH better deal on both using them. Our wedding is next week, but so far they have been great to work with.

The chairs are $5 and they have the colors you want (gold with red cushion):

You have to check though on using outside vendors for your venue. Certain venues you can't.

Thanks so much, Jad. :) Unfortunately, we are in the latter category of a venue that can't use outside vendors. We're getting married in an Epcot ceremony. Everything, with the exception of personal floral and our photographers/videographers, must be provided by Disney. :/ So, even though I'm positive it's cheaper with someone else...we're stuck!

So, this is a super old thread...but I thought I'd bump it, as opposed to starting my own.

Anyone know how much the upgrade to chiavari chairs are for a Wishes ceremony? I imagine it depends on the year you're getting married (since we all seem to be getting charged different amounts, depending on our book date). We're getting married 12/08/14 in Epcot.

We're thinking of upgrading from our wood chairs (already one upgrade) to chiavari. We've got about 25 people total coming (possibly even just 20). I think if we were talking about it adding an extra $100 or so to our final price, it wouldn't be a big deal. $500...that'd probably be a deal breaker.

Tiffiny, depending on if you want the cushion, the range for chiavaris is $9-$15. I believe the ones with the chair cushion are in the $12-$15 range, and prices changed based on what color you decide you want. So you may need to get your planner to price out whichever one you're thinking of. I think, if your chairs were, say, $13 a piece, you're looking at $325 (before delivery fee), which is a little under double what you're currently paying for, but certainly not horrible.

Thanks Alyaki. :) I didn't realize not having a seat cushion was an option. Even if it's just a hard surface, I don't care. My guests won't be sitting for very long anyway.

We think it won't be too bad. So when they quoted us at 25 chairs, that was because we were having like 25 people total at the wedding (that's counting myself and DF). So, they are charging us for chairs for people who won't be sitting. We figured out an exact list of who will be sitting, and who is part of the ceremony, last night. It comes up to 16 people--which is perfect for our row counts because we'll just have four rows of four. On the low end at $9/chair, that's $144. With the $75 delivery fee, that's $219. So, even if we get a price at $15/chair, that's $315 with delivery fee.

The plan will be to remove the $150 petal Mickey (sadness), which brings us down to $165 if we're using the high-end estimates (less, if we are only at $9/chair without a cushion). Additionally, we're also being charged for 25 ear hats for our guests at place cards, when in reality, we'll only need 20. So--I think now that we have a more definite guest list, I think we'll be able to get the money where we need it to be.

Tiffiny

Oh! And I actually just realized it'll save us on our centerpieces too for the aisle. So, we'll still need to pay for all of our centerpieces...but they're currently charging us a "move fee" of $19.50, based on the transfer of six centerpieces to the reception. If we only have four rows, we only need four aisle markers (centerpieces) at the ceremony. So, hopefully we can save $6.50 on the entire BEO and have at least two of the centerpieces start at the reception, versus the ceremoy

$6.50. HAHHAHAH!:lmao:

It helps so much to know a final guest count when trying to make cuts to make the budget work. So many little details are essentially priced per person that even having a handful of people decline can really make a difference, allowing you to splurge elsewhere. I hope the chairs come in at the price point you need them! The chivari chairs are like $8/chair to start out here, and with a guest list we're guessing somewhere near 80, there was no way we could justify the price. Thankfully, the chairs in the Sleeping Beauty Pavilion are not hideous and have Mickeys on them, so they'll work for us.

So lucky! Have you seen the free chairs for the Epcot weddings? They are literally plastic lawn chairs.

We have a guest that weighs over 300 lbs. There's no way that the lawn chairs would have held him. So, we felt like we had to upgrade, no matter what. The chiavari chairs hold more weight, as I recall from our discussion. So, it'll be even better than the wood.

Tiffiny

Really?? Plastic lawn chairs?? You're paying all that money and hosting an in park wedding, and they give you plastic lawn chairs? Wow. That kind of forces the issue for you. Jeez. I really hope you are pleasantly surprised by a lower cost than what you were anticipating!

It did force the issue, quite a bit. :) We had already committed to an upgrade to wooden chairs ($5/chair)...so the $4/chair bump won't be too bad. They may tell us it's $12.50/chair for what I want. I don't totally understand if we need to have seat cushions or not, which I imagine would bump the price more (I'd probably go as high as $12.50/chair). I would like either a gold or black...with a strong preference for gold. Not sure if there's a price difference between colors either, but I'm sure I'd probably force myself to go the cheaper route (depending on that difference was).

Thanks Jad! I am having my reception at GF in Feb 2016 and am looking into using Chair Caddy Orlando now, since Disney prices are atrocious, but it is odd I cannot find any reviews online for this Chair Caddy vendor (like Yelp, Wedding sites, etc). Sometimes I am hesitant to work with someone I cannot find reviews for online. Did you have a good experience using Chair Caddy?

Hi Tiffiny,

Yes, we had a great experience! No problems whatsoever and everything looked great. I'll send you a PM with a link to our pictures so you can take a look.

Sorry I just realized you are a different bride Ashley! I'll PM you the link. Happy Planning!

Hi Ashley, this message might be too late for you if you have already booked the chairs but for other future brides, I saw the chairs from Chair Caddy's warehouse and they were very badly damaged (chips, cracks, stains, etc) compared to other party rental vendors in the area.

I actually spent about a month looking for a nice affordable ballroom Chiavari chair rentals place in Orlando FL and Central Florida area that has decent quality chairs.

We finally found this local family owned vendor and used them for our wedding in Novemeber and delivery went smoothly. For their quality, they had the best prices in Orlando FL at $5.50 a chair which includes cushions. They had Gold, Silver, White and Mahogany Chiavari colors available. I saw other vendors chairs and they were very badly chipped or stained.
The owners were a friendly married couple who were very personal and attentive.

I have pictures from my wedding with the chairs in the background if you want to see them.

I think they have locations in NYC, DC, MD, VA and Chicago IL too.

We were just quoted on our planning trip this month. ~9 per chair with $100 delivery fee. Chair covers are more than the chiavari individual rental, but do not have a delivery fee. We chose the ivory chair with white pads.
