Disney releases photo from inside castle suite
posted by bkassab on Dec 22, 2006 11:29:36 AM

Walt Disney released this photo today, the first from inside the suite being constructed inside Cinderella's Castle. The photo was taken last month when "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" designer Paige Hemmis (left) toured the suite with Disney Imagineer Cathy Carver. Hemmis was at Disney to tape a segment for Disney's Christmas parade special scheduled to be televised on Monday.

The photo itself is not very revealing. There's barely an portion of the suite visible at all, likely and attempt to save the good stuff for the big unveil next month. The Magic Kingdom suite will be open in late January and a night's stay will be randomly awarded to Disney guests as part of the company's "Year of a Million Dreams" promotion.

Here are some other details of the suite reported by Scott Powers last month:

Before dinner, the winning family will be escorted to the suite, regaled with the Cinderella story, and shown around the rooms. Disney will arrange transportation for them and their luggage from wherever they were.

They'll be taken to Cinderella's Royal Table Restaurant for dinner, where the actress in Cinderella character will meet with them.

After dinner, they'll go back upstairs to freshen up, then be escorted to the "Wishes" show or other evening Disney entertainment.

In the morning, Cinderella will give them a wake-up call and check on them.

The 650-square-foot suite has a bedchamber, a bathroom and a parlor. The parlor has two sets of three windows: one overlooks Fantasyland; the other, Liberty Square.

Thanks for the link - you're right, the pic sure doesn't show much! Spending the night in the MK would surely be the kind of memory that would last a lifetime! DNeph and I will be ready to be picked during our star wars weekend trip :thumbsup2 - we travel light and are very flexible (and I think he has a secret crush on Cinderella ;) )!! :woohoo:

they showed more of it during the Disney Christmas parade. It looks really nice. I would love to stay in the castle.

This doesn't excite me much, other than the novelty of the location. The details seem kind of...uncomfortable. Now the suite the built at the DLH looked really terrific

It looks like the inside of the Excalibur Hotel in Las Vegas.

I wonder if you would be let out to just walk round the park if you couldnt sleep in the early hours of the morning ... i know I probably wouldnt be able to sleep through all the excitement of being picked.

Mind you, i'm unlucky in that sort of thing, so just having 1 simple wish granted would be a bonus

*w00t*! Thanks for the link, that was awesome!!

Apparently they just want everybody to be assured they are actually working on the suite. After all, the Year of a Million Dreams began quite some time ago...
