And with no fanfare or announcement either. Apparently the dates were opened on Wednesday. I found out by accident yesterday -- apparently only TAs knew.

We moved our summer cruise to Thanksgiving week and it was no difference in price (we were shocked), and got one of the itineraries with San Juan! We even got a better room. Very excited!

Anyone else going Fall 2012 sailings?

My TA gave us notice early Wednesday morning, and we moved one of our Fantasy sailings to the Thanksgiving Eastern cruise as well! I think I owed an additional $15 deposit, but that was due more to moving up a couple of subcategories than from the price difference.

We priced out several cruises in Oct and December, including the NYE cruise, which was much higher in price.

I found out here on the DIS, Wednesday evening, and called DCL yesterday to move a dummy date. I am really not happy with how they have rolled out the cruises this time, what happened to the Castaway Club benefit of early booking.

Other than the addition of San Juan, these aren't really completely new itineries (like Alaska or MR) or new ships (since Fantasy bookings opened in October), so the early booking benefit isn't really relevant I guess.

As of last night, it wasn't on the DCL site, though, so if you don't use a TA, you're out of luck.

Can a non-TA call DCL directly to book?

Oh, probably....what I meant and didn't say well was that if you don't have a regular TA to let you know these things, the Average Joe who tends to get information from a company's website wouldn't even know to call DCL and ask. It just seems odd to me. But, whatever.

That's what we're here for ;):thumbsup2

I agree!!

It would have been nice to have a heads-up for Gold/Platinum members. Fortunately, I check this site daily and someone posted it.

To me, a new itinerary is a new date. Prior to Wednesday, there were no San Juan itineraries and there were no Christmas or New Year's Eve crusies on the Fantasy. Aren't those "new" itineraries?

Our current (or even former) TA didn't contact us, but we didn't let her know we were interested in watching for this cruise either. I just think it was poor communication on DCL's part.

I called for the first time ever to make a reservation without our TA and it went very well. The DCL representative was very knowledgeable and helpful.

Just call DCL directly...they are accepting booking for Fall 2012....I moved a dummy date and made mine yesterday.

So I should be able to book onboard in two weeks, right?

Yes, though if you are looking at a sailing that is more likely to sell out, or at a category with just a few rooms (like 9A or 8A), then you may want to consider booking it now, and rebooking it when onboard. In the other thread, people have noted that 8A is sold out for the thanksgiving cruise already for example.

My Dream cruise this august was booked on opening day in Nov 2009. I sailed just a few weeks later (Dec 09), and was unable to rebook because the lower categories (I'd booked a 9A) had all sold out by the time I cruised. Since then the prices have risen and now it's been fully sold out for 4 people to where rebooking probably won't ever make sense. I'm glad in my case I didn't wait until I was onboard to book.

We sail in just over a week, and I decided to call my TA today to go ahead and hold a 4D for us. I am pretty particular about what room we get and didn't want to take a chance of prices raising once the dates are "officially released" next week. We will still check prices on board, and I am assuming we will save more with the incentives, but wanted to be safe, just in case.

Yes, but as we all know from experience -- if it goes public before then, cabins will sell quickly and prices will skyrocket!

I'm sure some of the agencies grabbed up some blocks of rooms!

I sure hope they are announced these to the public (or mysteriously show up on the website) BEFORE they also announce the rest of the year for the Magic and Wonder, so there won't be a mega-booking frenzy all on one day!
