1) We had FW Cabins reserved, as well as Hoop-Dee-Do.
2) Disney has already issued some refunds to my credit card.
3) They stated refunds to be made approx. 7-dys after Ressie.
4) So far, so, good . . . more to come.
5) We would have rather been at the Fort right now, but we understand.

NOTE:
. . . Disney officially says closure is until Mar-31st.
. . . But, they would not accept ressie transfers to April.
. . . We tried for FW Cabins as well as Hoop.
. . . Both show availability!

Yeah, Rusty, when you MAKE a cabin/campsite reservation, they charge your credit card for the deposit within about one day.

But when a REFUND has to be issued, it usually does take up to the full seven day period to see the credit on my card (at least that's been my experience).

One versus seven. :confused3 Maybe they had a fire lit under them to get these recent ones (including yours) done sooner.

I had an ADR for Trails End brunch for this morning (was in Cocoa Beach, FL this past week) and Disney cancelled it when they announced the Fort closure (and resort restaurants and Disney Springs). No deposit involved (although a cc guarantee) but they deleted the ADR pretty quickly.

PS - hope you get your cabin and HDDR set up as soon as they are available.

So, they just flat out said they wouldn’t move your ressie to April?
I really wish they would open the campground April 1st. I get that they don’t want people in the rooms &/or cabins. But, we bring our own housing when we camp in our RV! Even if nothing was open, I would still like to camp there.
We camped this past week at a local campground...it was a great way to get a change of scenery & we were still able to comply with all social distancing rules, etc.

UPDATE:, 04/07/2020:
1) Disney has refunded ALL of our deposit money for FW Cabins, Hoop Dinner, and other ressies.
2) We also had guaranteed ressies at eateries, and they never charged as a no-show.
4) So far, WDW has been fully upright, and on a timely basis.
5) I, personally, know Cast Members who have been treated properly and with great respect.
. . . at one location there is an on-line CONTEST how employees are spending their at home time.
. . . at 2-locations, a manager calls every employee weekly to see how they are doing during the crisis!
. . . these actions are better than most employers in Central Florida.

NOTE:
Do not know how things would be if Ogre (I mean, Iger) was still in charge ?!?!?!
At one time, I thought Eisner had turned bad (the second 10-yrs of his reign).
But, then I saw, FIRST HAND, how Ogre treated guests and employees!
. . . short work hours
. . . attempts at reducing benefits
. . . allowing maltreatment by new and ignorant supervisors
. . . refusing to address written concerns or comments from CMs

Lawyers & Used Car Salemen got more respect than WDW employees under Ogre.

Hope everybody is doing ok and being safe.
I have a question. I have several reservations at All Star Music for my family. I also have paid for the Hoop Dee Doo show. They are for Aug. 2020. So, I have paid around $4000 with my Disney credit card. If I cancel, can Disney refund the amount in a check ? I really don't need $4000 on my credit card.

My experience (and from what I've read) is the refund will go back to the source it was paid with as a credit. If the card used has had the balance paid off and you don't use it, I think you would have to contact the card company to see how they would deal with the credit.

This is how they handle it. Goes back to the source used, so if you used debit it would go back to your checking account. Since it is on the credit card it will show as a credit. You'll have to contact the credit card company to see how they handle it. What you should be able to do is charge those idiots a high interest on what they owe YOU.

I have had a similar situation that I got a big refund for something on an AMEX card. I contacted AMEX and they sent me a check for the refunded amount.

Capital One issued a check for my refund amount. Just called and asked. They did it quickly...within a couple of days.

Two questions:
1) How much did you pay per day at the local campground?
2) Would you be willing to pay full price for a Disney campsite?

We paid about $65 per day at Wind Creek bc we were in a “premium site.” You have to book those for a week. They are newer, more space between spots, on the point with water access, etc. So, they cost more than a regular full hook up at that campground.

I would be willing to pay full price at Disney. I know it sounds crazy. But, we love being able to take our golf cart. We go & never set foot in the parks sometimes, so that’s not a big deal for us. There’s plenty to explore. I have 3 kids, so any change of scenery keeps us all sane, as we’ve only been at home or in our camper since March when everything closed down.

We have been able to adhere to all guidelines while camping, so it’s been a great way for us to “survive” all this.

Just as an FYI, if anyone is interested, when I got the email that my May trip was going to be automatically canceled, I called and asked if they could move the deposit to one of my other other reservations. They said no problem and took care of it.

I also asked if they were going to offer anything special for campers whose vacations were impacted like they are doing with the other resorts. Of course, the answer was no, because FW is THE most requested resort (which I already knew).
