I'm looking for feedback on Disney Quest. We have never been there, and I'm wondering if I should take my three kids (2 are teenagers) there on our trip in March. If you buy a ticket, is it all-inclusive? I'm picturing it as a high-tech arcade. Your input will help me make a decision about whether to go or not. Thanks! :)

Your teens will probably love it - although there is something for everyone. If you have UMP's one day at Disney Quest is included (or it used to be). Even if you buy the ticket - it lets you into all 5 floors of high tech fun!

My son is 13 and he just loves disneyquest. It has numerous
virtual reality games, many family games that are really, really
fun. You can make your own roller coaster on a computer and then they actually put you inside a simulator and you ride it. We
have easily spent 5 hours there and he always wants to go back.

Unlimited Disney Quest is included with unlimited magic (length of stay) passes and premium annual passes, but not hopper plus passes.

Some folks get dizzy playing certain video games so not everyone will want to go back a second time. You won't find out which things make you dizzy until after you tried them at least one time.

There is at least one rumor going around that DQ may close sometime this year and something else take over the building.

I found I could not do virtual reality for more than a minute without becoming dizzy. Also I couldn't play the race car video games where up to 8 people can join the same game and race together. Those screens where, depending on my eye movement, the picture breaks up into myriads of uniform but ultra thin stripes going the long way (seeing the scan line interlacing, video technicians call it) seem to bother me the most.

My family was at WDW in May of 2002, on one eveing we ate at the Rainforrest Cafe and my DW and myself wanted to go shopping, My two DS's (12 & 14) wanted to head over to DQ. We let them go. After the DW and I were done spending our Disney Dollars we went over to DQ also. WHAT A NEAT PLACE !!!! The kids AND the adults can have a blast there. There are a number of things to do as a family and all that we tried were alot of fun.
After having been there once the kids wouldn't let us miss it on our next trip and the DW and I wouldn't want to miss it either. Try it out, You WILL have FUN!!

For those that grew up during the first wave of video games, there is a roomo with many of the "classics"; games like Defender, Spy Hunter, Centipede, Galaga, as well as the staples such as Missile Command, Asteroids, and Pac Man. Those definitely brought back memories from long ago.

If your teens have any interest in Playstation or Xbox, they will love it. You will literally have to drag them out.

Is it a "high-tech arcade"? I guess you could kinda call it that.

I would put the attractions into three categories:
1. Classic arcade games (think Pac Man, Donkey Kong...stuff from the 80s)
2. Current arcade games (couldn't even name them for you...driving games, shooting games, and the sort).
3. Interactive games / attractions.

That last category is really its selling point. There are attractions which let you build and ride your own virtual roller coaster. There are 2-person bumber cars that let you fire shots at targets on the other cars.

Here's a link to some detailed info. Click on the names of the different zones for details:

There is no charge for the individual arcade games once you enter. Some of the other "attractions" have extra charges associated, but they are optional. there are also a number of kiddie games that spit out tickets that can be redeemed for small prizes. These games have a fee also, but your teens won't be remotely interested in them.

As others have said, DQ is not a "PLUS" option, meaning that you need the Unlimited Park Hopper or Premium AP to gain entrance. Personally, I don't think DQ is worth the single-day admission fee. A family of 4 will pay more than $100. Unless you've set aside a day in your trip schedule as a "non-park" day, I don't see how you could get your money's worth. To us, DQ is the type of attraction that you visit for a couple of hours in the evening after you're through with the parks.
