Disney Quest

The only time EVER that I forgot my fam was at Disney Quest. They have (or at least had) one of those car racing games where you sit in the seat and race just on your machine or you can race via being linked with the other people siting there. There were five or six racers and I happened to get with a group of complete strangers (all of us to each other and all of us 20 years or older (I was not the oldest at about fifty)) that were very competitive and very much fun-loving folks. We would race and jump back in line. We did this for a couple of hours. The last race I did I jumped out of my machine to go get back in line and just about mowed over my family. And then it hit me. I was suppose to meet them somewhere else an hour before. That was several years ago and they will not let me forget the day I forgot the fam.

I love the animation too. I have leaned how to draw Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck and Goofy.

Nope, this one was at DisneyQuest. It's a 20-30 minute class, and an animator walks you through the steps to draw a character. My DD enjoyed it very much. We have never done the Animation Academy at DHS, so I can't comment on it :)

Okay, I was going to let the D's do DQ while I shopped since I do not play games at all and I get motion sickness like you would not believe:crazy2:, but if they have animation classes, I am in!:cool1:

Is there a limit how many times you can take the class in a day?

(PS: DH is thankful I found this thread because I was going to go shopping for the 4-5 hours they were going to be in DQ.)

I don't think there is a limit. I have never done the Animation Class at DHS so I can't compare. I have done it twice at DQ. The price to turn it into a great souvenir is very reasonable. You get a print out of your drawing, a certificate for completing the class, and a collectible pin for Animation Academy with the character of your choice. Love doing the class.

I want to report on our recent visit to DQ because I mentioned how busy DQ can be in the evenings.

We visited DQ on Saturday, June 29. This was our arrival day for a 3-night stay in WDW. We usually do a DQ/DTD day and sleep in to go to DQ at its 11:30 AM opening, but for this trip, there was no way we could do this. If we were going, it had to be in the evening, and it made sense to go on the evening of our arrival since we arrived at about 3 PM.

We entered DQ in the early evening hours. I expected it to be very busy with long waits. I was thrilled that it wasn't really crowded at all. Yes, the wait for the Pirates experience on the first floor was typically long, but not more than what it usually is. The wait for the virtual roller coaster was long, but it seemed to ebb and flow and we were able to do it several times without having to wait overly long. We were able to play on the games all over and basically do everything we wanted without ever feeling annoyed by crowds or wait times. LOL.

I will say that the day was rainy...almost the entire day. And perhaps this discouraged the locals from coming out?

We had a great visit. We stayed for several hours, then we took a break to eat dinner at Bongos. Then we went back to do a few more before leaving at 10:45 PM.

There is no limit to how many times as long as you are in a seat before the class starts... I would say there are about 20 drawing desks and they all filled up when i was there last month.

No limit, that I was aware of, but you need to get there and reserve a seat early. We left the area, came back about 5-10 minutes before the next class was going to start, and found all the chairs occupied. Just be prepared to stake out a spot. If you don't mind sitting there all evening, you could just keep your seat and cycle through several classes!

Cool - thanks!:thumbsup2

I will probably just sit there for a few sessions so I do not go out of my mind while the D's play video games and anything that might make me sick.

How much is Disney Quest without vouchers?
We will be in Orlando next month but only doing WDW for one day.

I love Disney Quest but i am a real big gamer, I go to disney quest at least 3 times during a trip during the evenings at DTD to relax after a day in the parks.

there are some old retro arcade systems, newer interactive games, a design a toy, make your own song, paint along with an artist. also some virtual reality games.

there is somthing for everyone, if she is into games and gaming then you cant go wrong, its free once your inside no tokens and game over screens lol me and my little brother one trip actually went during the day and completed the jungle shooter game on the bottom floor took ages but we did it lol

all i will say is, if you are quite a motion sick person, id be careful it gets quite stuffy in there with all the heat coming from the machines and it is wall to wall arcade cabinets with moving screens, the simulation rides really effect me for some reason, so just remember that so you dont get dissapointed if you have to leave due to nausea

A single Disney Quest ticket costs $48.

If you have a park ticket with water park fun, a day at Disney Quest takes one fun visit. Water park fun costs $63. added to a base ticket or $27. added to a multi-day hopper.

In the past I've never considered going because of its almost $50 per person admission :( But with the two tickets included in the package, I'll definitely be going! We aren't going to any parks on our last day so I figured we would head there right when it opens and stay until we have to leave to catch the non-magical express back to MCO
