Disney Quest to close in early 2008

We havent quite made it to the DQ age yet (DSs are 6 & 9), but I was thinking in the next few years we would make a visit. Im not too upset about that loss, but I am bummed that ESPN will not be at the BW. It was always nice to walk there from Epcot for lunch, or other times when staying at the Epcot Resorts we could easily walk over. We liked to do this for lunch on our arrival day. Getting to DTD always seems like such a hassle.

When DisneyQuest was first conceived, it was suppose to be national chain sort of thing. One was opened in Chicago, and another was supposed to be opened in Philly. They were looking at major metropolitan areas.

I THINK, but am not positive, they were probably looking for some continuity. Since the only way to build is up in most urban areas, that's probably why the stacked floor idea even though they could have probably done it different at Disney World.

And I still don't think they'll be adjusting the prices of admission that included DisneyQuest. I'm just saying it would be nice if they did. :)

I enjoyed Dq the very first time i went there. I liked it more for the animation and some of the games but it was very hard to get near anything to play since all the kids hover around.

I guess we'll have to check it out before it closes. Hopefully I can get some cheap airfare and we can do it the day we go down rather than drive and get there late.

I was at DQ last night. I asked a CM about his take on DQ closing. He was told it is just a rumor. He also added he'd believe it when he sees it.

Yeah, the CMs typically don't find out about these kinds of things until long after we read about them here.

i know me and DH will miss it. When we were down there in 02 we were there 10 out of 14 nights we were there. He would ride the roller coasters he made over and over again and I would hang out at the animation station or what ever its called and LOVED learning how to draw the characters. I even broke down and bought one of my creations which is something I never do, did that on the last night because I got pretty good at drawing them after that many nights there LOL

oh yeah i almost forgot...the time before when i went, i was with hubby #1 lol and my parents and I'll never forget we all went on that raft ride in there and me and him were getting soooo sea sick. I didn't know how i was going to make it through. Every time I walk past that thing now i can't help but laugh out loud, how i was just sitting there looking all green, just moving my oar so sloooowly because I was afraid to move any part of me for fear of throwing up hahaahhaha :lmao:
