Disney Quest Needs A Makeover

I agree that Disney Quest could use an update. With that being said,on our trip in June my 3 children, ages 21,21 and 18 went and had a wonderful time.

Does anyone know if they still offer the cheaper price if you go at night after a certain time? It use to be like after 7 or 8 it was like 1/2 price but when I called Disney they non english speaking CM told me no... Then said well actually i'm not sure.

There is a sticky t the top of the board all about tickets.

We had free passes to DQ a few year ago. My brother, one of his friends, and I went one afternoon and thought it was horribly outdated and a waste of time.

Granted, I'm 27, and they are both around 20.

Still, it seemed like a large waste of space.

Well, thanks for your comment. My eldest kid is 20 and loved DQ the last time he was there- about 5 years ago. It wasn't really fitting into our schedule this time so now I won't feel too badly if he doesn't get a chance to go. Best to live with the nostalgic memories, I guess.:)

And there is the Sum of All Thrills at EPCOT. The virtual rollercoaster was his favorite part, anyway.

My boys actually really enjoy DQ and we will be going probably 3 times in just a few weeks (using the plus options on our YES tickets.) My boys (10 & 12) love retro type games and pinball so DQ is the perfect place for them. The two times we have gone previously we spent no less than 4 hours there on each visit.

It isn't spectacular but the interactive attractions are fun and there are plenty of good games to have fun playing.

I would agree with many others that it is worth using a plus option on but not paying admission for!

My kids enjoy DQ but I do think it is the red-headed stepchild of WDW's parks - it doesn't entice people to spend more money (mostly they go because they bought the WPF&M upgrade for the waterparks), there isn't much that can be done to alleviate crowding because of the inherently low-capacity nature of the attractions, and I think we're far more likely to see it shut down than significantly improved.

Let's face it, the entire arcade concept is pretty much dead these days - there's just no attraction to it now that we're all carrying phones that give us access to thousands of games with a tap of our finger. I think if Disney had any other, more lucrative use in mind for that space DQ would be long gone.

We were such awful parents :rotfl2: as we never took DS to DQ. Our feeling was we weren't at WDW for arcade games and such. DS never begged to go as he was more interested in the parks anyway. When DS went on his senior trip, DQ was included and he went. He and his friends hated it....old, dated, broken, and lame. These guys are all into Xbox and play station but DS said he was glad he hadn't gone on our family trips.

I went to DQ because of the connection to Randy Pausch who did the Last Lecture. He was involved in the development of the Aladdin ride. I am not a huge fan of the place though.

I can't stand it. I have a premium annual pass, but always tell family and friends if they have to pay not to go.

My 4.5 year old enjoys it, and thankfully my husband likes going around with her-so if we are at dd and she asks to go I go to the cafe, get a soda, and read!

Couldn't agree more with OP. The stand alone games are fun, but all the stuff that should be "special" is outdated to the point of being terrible. The VR stuff was probably cool ten years ago when it made you imagine the day a company would invent a Wii, a Kinect, or an iPhone/iPad, but at this point it's just terrible.

If you have the water parks and more option and you won't use all your admissions, by all means, stop by DQ and goof around. The pirate ship, like others have said, is okay and the standard games are fun to play without worrying about quarter management. But if your planning on spending money a ticket by itself, please reconsider.

Quest is really not worthy of the Disney name.

Reading all this negative reviews of DQ is disappointing because I've been looking forward to possibly visiting DQ on our upcoming trip. (It's up in the air mainly because I'm not sure I want my 6 year old there.). DH and I last visited DQ over 10 years ago (before we had kids) and we have fond recollections of that place. It is so hard to reconcile my memories of that last fun visit with the dirty boring place that most folks are describing here!

Even though it is mostly outdated I didn't think it was dirty or boring! We went there about 4-5 times on our last trip. For a matter of fact, the restrooms in DQ were among the cleanest and well cared for that we have seen on this trip.

We had added the WPF&M option just for DisneyQuest as we didn't plan or do any water parks in January.

People might think that arcades are dead, but in DQ you have access to lots of classic games as well as fun new ones (specially Fix It Felix Jr. from Wreck It Ralph, which is featured prominently all over DQ).

Of the larger attractions, the best one continues to be the Pirate of the Caribbean one, which we did at least once in each of our visits to DQ!

We were a party of 3 adults and a teen, but I think it would be fun for your 6 year old. If you're getting tickets with Park hoppers, there is no reason not to add the WPF&M to enjoy DQ as well!

After reading so many bad reviews I was really worried when we went last August. Turned out our family adored it. Now my DD isn't as big a fan, but since she can spend hours in the animation academy side learning to draw, she's a pretty happy camper. She plays a bit and watches the rest of us a lot. We all loved the interactive family games - Pirates and Magic Carpets were awesome. The other VR stuff, we won't do again. We found we hate helmets, uncomfortable and constantly slipping off.

Even though we have the fancy gaming systems, the tablets, and all the game apps - my DS in particular really loves arcades - the noise, the craziness and playing on big machines all really appeal to him (He's awful enough that he insisted on spending $10 in the Pop arcade even though we spent TWO full days at DQ on our last trip). We spend a bundle for 1-2 hrs in arcades when we go - although I throttle it to about $40-$50 max for our family of 4. I prob wouldn't spend more than $25 pp ($100) for DQ but since we spend all day long there easily, we definitely get our money's worth. It's actually a bit of a toss up if we enjoy DQ or the WPs more. We do use WPF&M tickets to do DQ, and that really makes it worth it.

It is a bit outdated - but it doesn't bother us. The only thing my kids miss is winning tickets and exchanging them for crappy prizes. (UGH - gambling for kids!)
