About Disney Quest -- what are the best ages for this? I think my sons (ages 9 and 8 at our next trip) would love this. HOWEVER -- I think my 3 (will be 4 at trip) yr old dd would be young for this.

Am I right? I've never set foot in the joint. I'm wondering if this would be a good event for dad to take the "guys" and me and dd to go do the princessy stuff that makes y-chromosonals gag. We did this last trip (they went to TL; she and I did a princess b'fast and did whatever she wanted -- including Cinderella's carosel 4 times, in fact...)

All input appreciated!

THANKS

Been there once....it might be too much for a 4 y/o to handle....sensory overload..it's dark and noisy...and oh so easy to lose the rest of your party..I believe it's on 6 levels. I think that you are right to let the guys take on the 'Quest' while you and your daughter enjoy a girl's day together. I personally had a hard time taking it all in( I was never an arcade type person and this is just one giant arcade)....and I am in no rush to go back in there....DH however is chomping at the bit to go back in....so I guess he enjoyed it last time we went.

Is it true too that much of this is virtual reality stuff? My sister went with her teen daughter and came back nauseated b/c she had been on "Aladdin's carpet". I cannot really handle VR stuff -- call it an inner ear thing or whatever, but like my sister, I would be in barfville! And the 7 yr old would want to try everrrrrrything... and according to my sister, some of the stuff they won't let a child under 13 ride alone -- they have to have a parent present with them. I could handle accompanying them (and would -- because I can't handle not knowing where my kids are!) but I would not have any real interest in actually DOING any of it (especially if it would make me ill). DH however would think it was way-cool, as would the boys.

And the idea of chasing a 4 yr old through dark, electronics-noisy gaming areas while she blindly pokes at keys and gets frustrated b/c she doesn't know what to do and can't read directions, etc. , well, that's hardly a vacation day -- that's an Excedrin ES moment.

Sounds like a perfect princess day in the making to me.

My 10 y/o dd and I just did DQ last Tuesday. It was a first for us. I am not an arcade person either. I would think that you should really be at least 5-6 to get much out of DQ. Pirates was a hoot but it did unsettle my dd at one point! And as far as 'Aladdin' goes...it gave me a major headache. Holding that headpiece thingie upright was not fun!! But some of it we really liked. I don't think either one of us is eager to go back, but like I said earlier...we're not huge arcade/video nuts. I would take dd to do girlie stuff and let the boys go off together.

Another vote to do a princess day with your little one! Although my boys (8 & 12) really enjoy Disney Quest, I have to agree that 4 would be too young to get much pleasure from it.
