Hi. DD works in a photography/framing store, here in Ontario Canada. A lady just brought in this Disney puzzle to be framed. From a distance it looks like Mickey leaning on a post then when you get closer, its scenes from all the Disney movies. She said that it took her family a year to do the puzzle, so its being around for awhile. Has anyone have or saw it?

I haven't seen that specific one - but photomosaic puzzles were very popular several years ago and there were quite a few Disney ones.

I had one and then my SIL gave me one a few months ago that she purchased at a garage sale. Too hard for me...I passed it along to another garage sale.

I have one, but not sure if it's the same one you're talking about.
My sis gave it to me a couple of years ago. I still have it hanging on the wall, and I will try to get a pic on here for you later.

I think that is the same one that DSIL gave me for my birthday a couple years ago. It took over six months to complete and I had to cheat with the box picture to get some parts of it. Haven't had it framed, but haven't taken it apart either.

I bought another of the Mickey mosaic puzzles but haven't taken it out of the box yet.

I got DSIL back, though. I sent her a puzzle that all the pieces are shaped exactly the same. The picture is a maze the can be followed if it is assembled correctly. She hasn't tried it yet.

It took several people over a YEAR to do it? Wow, that's slow.
Anyway, it's a PhotoMosaic puzzle- I have that Mickey one and just got a Donald one from Amazon as well.

I have the puzzle and DBF and I did it. I didn't take near a year, but it did take a long while. We intended to glue it, but I had to move, so it is back in the box, and we just started to put it back together again the other day. Very challenging, but very fun. We did cheat a tiny bit sometimes with the picture!

It is considered cheating to look at the picture? Never knew that before.

Sounds ike a neat puzzle, I will have to look for one.

Haha at these comments. I started mine on a board and then put the board under my bed when I wasn't working on it. Then, my cat went under the bed and had some fun!! Pieces were batted everywhere! I was afraid I'd work on it for 1 year and then have a piece missing!!

We have that one hanging in our Disney room, I can't remember how long it took us to finish it though. It wasn't a year, but maybe a couple of months... mostly because I don't like doing puzzles but really wanted that one for the room. I had it on a board and would put it away for a short time and then get it back out to work on it some more.

We also have a Pirates one made up of teeny tiny little scenes from the movies. That one was really hard because the pictures on the pieces were even smaller than the Mickey one! The finished puzzle is Jack, Elizabeth and Will. It looks cool, but I wouldn't want to do it again :lmao:

Went and looked to see if I had a pic online to show the puzzles and this was the best one I could find, it's kind of hard to see but the Mickey one is on the right side in the corner and the Pirates one is one the left side of the corner facing out. Is this the one you meant?

My mom has that same puzzle. It took her about two months to finish it. She didn't work on it everyday but it was hard.

We just finished that same puzzle. I picked it up from a thrift store. It took us about 6 weeks to finish it and we didnt work on it everyday. Turns out that there were 6 pieces missing so we couldn't frame it. Oh well, I bought a smaller Toy Story Photomosaic off Amazon. It's new so we can frame it when we are done.

Look them up at Amazon they have lots of them. The retired or hard-to-find ones are super expensive!

Here's a few pictures of my puzzle that my sis put together & had custom framed for me. I tried to get some close ups, but it's kinda blurry. I also got close ups of the detailed Mickey & Minnie borders.

Yes, that is the puzzle that I did as well.

They actually sold a print of that picture about 10 years ago or so. I bought mine at the Disney Store.

I have seen the puzzles at some hobby shops and even Target (I think). It's a great picture and it's so much fun to look at! :)

we purchased it at Target I want to say it was $10-$15. We havent put it together yet. We also have the POTC one.

My DD has done that puzzle along with several other photomastic ones. Shes 13 and it takes her about 1 month to do. As a matter of fact we went out tonight to get a new one, she picked a tigger one. Someday I am going to frame all 8 of them.
