So with Disney so concerned that they are promoting junk food and removing themselves from the Mcdonalds happy meal deal, do you think they will be re-vamping their park food outlets???? especially in AK, the last time we were there the Dinosaur ride almost brain washed you into wanting to eat a McDonalds.... i try and steer away from junk food but always find it a bit difficult in the parks.

Their 10 year agreement came to an end. Disney did not end the deal. Mcdonalds were as keen to end it as Disney.

You will see in the future that Mcdonalds will be promoting Disney films still - just not every single one.

okay - I for one am really bummed. My kids love the different disney toys and, okay, my arteries are clogging as we speak, I sometimes crave their food. Will miss the steady disney reference. :confused3

I think Disney really needs to get its act together - apart from their cuisine restaurants, the food Disney serves at their parks, and in their food halls at Disney resorts is the WORST in Florida ! :stir:

Much worse than MacDonalds !!

I think it was time for them to got different ways, the cost, and Mcs can have alternatives,

I agree outside booked sit down meals WDW food is bad.

Kids will miss the Disney happy meals, but look at Burger king they have had a lot of good toys recently including King kong

I just avoid the McDonald's themed eating places myself - though the one exception to the is Restaurantosaurus which DDs will not go to WDW without visiting once

I have to say, my view of the WDW counter service (fast food style) eating establishments is that the food is OK for what it is. Not brilliant, but no worse than a McD's - and there are some good choices of non burger meals if you look :)

I agree with Miffy.. if you look you can get good counter service food at WdW..
MK has a good choice at Cosmic Rays and also the Columbia Harbour House, the Noodle Bar in Future world (if its still there!) and doubtless other places that I cant think of right now.

Epcot has some GREAT counter service stuff... Japan, China, Morocco and even the UK are really good. Plus anyone who says that the Kringla Bakery in Norway is anything other than yummy is crazy! ;)

AK has the Tusker house which has a wide variety of differnt stuff, plus the wonderful Flame Tree BBQ (worth it for the fruit salad alone.. wow that is just soooso delicious!)

There is the ABC Commisary at MGM which does wierd and wonderful selections and Starring Rolls is also a great counter service place.

Im actually amazed at the quality of the food. You compare that to what we get in this country..

If you are not a fan of 'fast food' type restuarants - we can highly recommend the 'Crown Colony Restaurant' at Busch Gardens Tampa. It offers a sit down silver service meal. The restaurant is located on the edge of the Serengeti Plain and when entering the restaurant make sure that you ask to be seated to the left so you can view the wildlife whilst eating your lovely meal. It looks very posh from the oustside and you would expect to pay a huge amount from its 'external appearance' but for a few dollars extra (comapared to the fast food places) you can get a sit down silver service meal with excellent table service, excellent food, excellent view of the wildlife and on occasion entertainment from someone playing the piano in a white suit. We have been 8 times to Florida and going to this restaurant has been a most remorably experience and rates high on our list of good eateries.

:thumbsup2 you can check out the menu on the Busch Gardens website.

Just adding that a survey published today revealed that 'Macdonalds' is the most hated brandname in the UK followed by 'Pot Noodle' and 'QVC' :confused3
