Has anyone done this and have a review to share w/ me? I think my girls would really enjoy it (esp. since Aurora is my youngest dd's namesake) and are the right ages to appreciate it. The price is pretty steep and it would be a definite splurge, which is why I'm asking for experiences from anyone who has been.... Thanks so much in advance!

We took our then 5 year old daughter to the tea party two years ago, and yes, it was expensive, but in the end, it was a great experience. One quick note, while Aurora is a part of the "production", she does not spend a great deal of time with the kids. The main "character" is Rose Petal. She is the one that spends most time with the kids, interacting, reading stories, sharing tea etc. This did not diminish the excitement of my daughter, but I have heard from others that they were expecting more out of Aurora, and were disappointed when she was only present for a short period of time (towards the end). Maybe things have changed, but this is how it was a few years ago. Disney still manages to pack alot in to Tea Party. Nice finger food, stories, singing etc. My daughter loved dressing up in her favorite Princess costume (Belle) for the occasion, and I would highly recommend having your daughter(s) come dressed in thier Princess Best for the event! Be sure to bring the video camera! We had to save a bit extra, but are happy we did.

We did it when dd was 6. I thought it was really good. We loved Rose petal and the others. Even though it was alot of money, you get alot of stuff. The dolls are beautiful! I'm glad we did it. your dd is young only once!:goodvibes

We just went in Oct, my girls are 4 & 6 and they LOVED it! I say, if you have the money, do it. For now I say I wouldn't do it again, because it really is a once in a lifetime experience, but who knows, we might go the next time too. If you want specifics or what we did just PM me and I can let you know how everything went for my DDs.

I would love to hear/see more details. We're going in March.

Does anyone know how far in advance you have to make reservations for this? My DD is 4 and would just love this!

Thanks for the responses. I'm really excited about doing this for my girls and just wanted to reassurances..... I'm not sure about how far in advance to make reservations, but our 180 day window is coming up and I wanted to be ready since I've read that this fills up quickly and only 42 princesses per day are allowed.... Can't wait!!!

I just took my dd(5) thursday. She said it was her favorite thing she did at Disney. It is very cool. She was sprinkled with rose peddles when she entered the door. She was also involved in singing and dancing. It was a wonderful experience, but very expensive. If I do it again, it will be the only splurge!:scared1:

Those pictures are great!

I'd love to know what the moms wore to the tea. Is it dressy or were they mostly casual? I need to figure something out.

thanks!

I took my daughters when they were around 3 1/2 and they liked it but I think they were too young. I wish there was an option that you could do it without the doll that way we could do it again.

All the moms I noticed were dressed casual. I didn't see anyone wearing dresses, but I also don't remember seeing anyone in jeans. Hope this helps.

It really is a GREAT event-- my daughter loved it and watches the video pretty frequently. I'd say 5 years old is the perfect age; my daughter was 4 and just a touch more shy about participating. Much older than 6.5 would possibly not get into the spirit of the participatory storytelling and singing. Rose Petal, the lady who leads the event, tells the story, and sings, is very charming and has a lovely voice and great sense of humor. While Aurora *is* only there at the end, the girls get to dance around the room with her (as a group) and she spends a few minutes at each table-- more than at a typical character event. The doll is very sweet and there are cute outfits and accessories you can get for them available at the GF gift shop (princess costumes mostly.) We went in November 2006 and my daughter still plays with her Aurora doll quite a bit; she got her first American Girl this fall and the two dolls can share clothes. (The Disney Girl doll is not quite as nice as the American Girl, but is very similar.)

If you can splurge-- go for it! Its a very special day. As to dress-- I wore a sundress to the tea. I noticed mist folks were a little more than "park casual." Hey-- its an EVENT-- might as well dress up some and get some nice family pics in the lovely GF setting, right?
